This feels like a stunning deal. I'm scratching my head as to why it's not getting more love. Certainly the 1050 Ti is an older card, but still good enough for modern titles on lower settings? Solid baseline specs, easily upgraded, 3rd Gen Thunderbolt, and pretty good (stated) battery life? Is there something I'm missing here?
If this was the newer 2019 G5 chassis I'd be all over this deal, but this older style looks basically the exact same as my Inspiron 15 7000 series from 3-4 years ago.. Weighs the same too.

I think it's because of the low sRGB and dim display. Also the weight. Not ideal for gaming.
I've been waiting a month to pull the trigger on a decent gaming/overall laptop. How good/hot of a deal is this?
Just returned my Dell G5 with the same i5 8300H but a GTX 1060. The CPU throttled a lot during gaming. Even though I turned off TurboBoost and was at 70 degrees, CPU usage dipped for unknown reason. Also, all 3 USB ports are 3.1? I kept having issues with my keyboard and mouse plugged into a USB 2.0 hub. So there's that....

The only negative is the weight, which seems excessive for a 15.6" laptop.
