Saw a new sign at Walmart that looks pretty interesting. There's no dates on it, and I can't find any info on the deal anywhere which tells me that someone probably screwed up and put the sign out too soon....but anyway.

I am currently with Xfinity Mobile and would like to port-in my number to this Walmart AT&T plan....I do know that I need to first purchase the phone from walmart which I did and am about to pick it up in the next hour or so...
Can anyone please kindly clarify the recommended next steps to get the whole 25 GB data post?
Also wondering if these phones come with a sim card inside?
If you don't need to port your number, it's pretty straight forward. You buy the phone at Walmart, activate and fund the plan then keep the sim card in the Walmart phone until the bonus data is added. That's what I did the first time I tried it and received the data after 2-3 days.
If yo are trying to port your number, all I can say is good luck. There so much misinformation given by AT&T reps that it's tricky to know what's right or wrong. I'm inclined to recommend you wait for people to post updates on their deals or for AT&T to figure their crap out.
Per some of the posts in this thread they suggest calling the AT&T number to activate the phone and also port in the number before funding the account with the $50 plan then keep using this phone for few days until data posts before I plan to switch the phone to my favorite iPhone.

well i guess i am lucky, swapping out immediately to my iPhone and got 17GB bonus just 5 days after activation

I did swap the SIM immediately after activation and i have not ported number and will prob not. GV is working for me. Rep did say there is no set time frame for when/if I decide to port but who knows.
