Saw a new sign at Walmart that looks pretty interesting. There's no dates on it, and I can't find any info on the deal anywhere which tells me that someone probably screwed up and put the sign out too soon....but anyway.

Seems like a pretty good deal for AT&T network:

$50/mo. but $40 with autopay:
- UNL Talk & Text
- 25GB High Speed Data then 2G
- Hotspot included
- Mexico and Canada roaming included

2 lines would be $70, 3 lines would be $100, 4 lines would be $120, and 5 lines would be $140.

Looks like this deal is only at Walmart - everywhere else has 16GB data offer and it requires autopay. This offer looks like it doesn't require auto-pay.

Did you end up receiving the bonus data?
No I did not. I returned the Wally phone before the 15 day limit. I may retry again around the 18th when this month gets close to end. I would rather not but unfortunately the ATT service is the best in my area.

Ok. So I guess we should leave the sim inside the walmart phone until the 17 gb* bonus data is received and then port in our number

7/1: Bought Nokia 3.1 A from Walmart and activated online through the promo link
7/4: Received the 17 GB Promo Data
7/4: Ported number from Sprint and Swapped Sim to my S10, still have 17GB Promo Data
7/4: Had to login to and set up the auto pay again.

So looks like I am all set for now! Good luck guys. I did wait to get the Promo before porting in from Sprint. I was able to get US based customer service today and everything was painless and setup and running in less than 10 mins.

Unlocked S10 not having options for VOLTE or Wifi Calling, will try flashing the AT&T ROM and report back!

I guess so, I never switched from Walmart phone but I did port number withing an hour of activating

EDIT: I just checked my account and I now have the 17GB promo data, even after returning the phone to Walmart. I was bashing ATT every day on twitter, so maybe I wore them down lol

Great to know that porting in a number after you get promo data doesn't affect the plan. Please let us know if anything changes next billing cycle though! Fingers crossed all is well and you will get bonus data for as long as you stay on this plan!! Peace

Wow!! You still got bonus data after returning phones to Walmart, LOL.

However, once the return process completes on Walmart side, they may notify AT&T that the phone was returned and it might trigger a process to remove your bonus data... who knows?? This seems to be such a laborious process... They have these things called computers, AT&T / Walmart should automate this stuff and make it faster, LOL.

Congrats!! Looks like AT&T is catching up on the bonus allocations now. It should never have taken so long to being with. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here on out.

One more thing - you mentioned having to set up auto-pay again. Why would the porting affect the auto-pay set up?

I may port a number in the future... does it cancel the auto-pay when you port? Please clarify.

Yep seems like auto pay gets cancelled and also noticed that I was not able to login had to call 611 and have them reset my password and security pin again. Promo data still showing up. Hopefully changing the phone won't affect the promo data.

Yep returning the Walmart phone is risky for 2 reasons
1) if there are too many return at&t will catch on and probably take away the bonus data and put the line in the 8gb regular plan

2) one someone else purchases the open box item from Walmart and activates the system might remove the imei from your account and assign it to the new owner.

For $40 I won't risk this at all. Because there's quite a bit of work to get this promo. For this reason not even selling the phone on Craigslist since activation of the phone in any other account may trigger loss of the promo from your account.

If this doesn't happen consider yourself lucky, but since they are calling it a promo data I am sure they can actually put all lines back to the 8gb plan whenever they want to!

I did not return the phone to try to slide by, I did not get the 17gb for 21 days and after several calls to CS I was thinking I would not get it, so I returned the device one day before the Walmart limit for returns. I would have gladly kept the phone if I thought I would get the data, it was the $90 Nokia 3A and a decent budget backup phone. If I lose the data, so be it, I will move on from there.
