Oh gosh why do you continue writing your username after your post 😱
Plus taxes and fees. If you live in IL like I do, taxes will be like $8 extra per month. There is always a $5 e911 fee plus other bogus fees.
mint is $240 for a yr on their 1 yr/8gb plan. They also have buy 3 months get 3 months free promotion for New comers right now

Hmmm kind of changes things doesn't it? Depending on where you live, could be pretty high fees/taxes. Seems odd they can do this after the fact if you've paid up front for a year. I see the bottom where it says "as the law allows", but this seems ripe for a class action lawsuit down the road. At $25 plus a few bucks good deal. Paying up to $33 or more ouch. Though ATT prepaid reviews are quite good.

Also, notice they state "...from your AT&T prepaid account balance..."! AT&T is notorious for this sort of deceptive advertising. They get sued a lot, but they pay out peanuts compared to how much they gain from consumers.

This is false, i contacted CS multiple times about this. Basically you will pay $300 plus taxes(for the whole year) upfront. And then $25 plus monthly taxes(ply 1$) will be deducted from your account until & unless you used any additional services such as international long distance service etc.
If not this will stay under the expected amount of $25 plus tax until the end of 1 year. That means the amount whatever you pay upfront will cover the full 12 months of service. I do see you had posted the same false info multiple times in this thread.
Dude, did you even read the freaking terms? What part of "monthly taxes and fees from your AT&T prepaid account balance will be deducted..." did you not understand or disagree with? I work at AT&T, they've given me the details. You must be speaking with confused and inept CS reps. Read the terms yourself and then fully complete your purchase. I guarantee you it won't be $305. It'll be ~$335 upfront as others have stated and then they will tack on admin fees and other fees monthly. Grand total you will pay for the 12 months will be over $400!

Are you 100% sure about everything you stated???? Kinda surprised that At&t sets up a temporary holding account that can run out in 9 months. Also surprised they can get away with advertising this as a 360 day annual fee plan. I can't imagine they can charge you more or cancel your plan at a later date for a 360 day plan after you already paid the Annual plan fee and taxes. Do you work in a Postpaid store???
Yes, I'm 99% sure. AT&T is essentially locking you into a 360 day contract with a guaranteed rate of $25 but taxes and fees will be billed separately. AT&T is desperately trying to get your money upfront via a prepaid offer due to the risk of bankruptcy due to crushing debt from their Directv and Time Warner purchase.
Read the fine print. It explains in black and white that they will deduct taxes and fees from your AT&T prepaid account balance.

The Fine print when you sign up for this at checkout:
"Other monthly charges: Apply per line and may include taxes, federal and state universal service charges, Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge (up to $1.25), gross receipts surcharge, Administrative Fee, and other government assessments which are not government-required charges. Additional one-time charges may apply. See att.com/additionalcharges for more details on other charges for your area. In some areas, discretionary fees, taxes, or charges such as E911 fees will be debited from your AT&T PREPAID account balance as the law allows. "

I just signed a "trial" 3 month Mint Mobile to try them out after leaving Sprint. I want to like their service, but cannot send pictures in text messages. Does anyone know a fix for this? Related YouTube vids aren't helping. Thanks.
You'd have to google the APN settings for their network and change it on your phone.

Dumb question, but if we pay up front say $325 total for the 360 days, how is there some sort of account with money or a balance created? And they will just make it a negative balance over time if you have nothing in there?

This just doesn't make sense. But at the same time, nothing would surprise me in this day and age. Just not sure how they can do this. I don't mind paying some taxes, but if it pushes it up to $33 it's just too much. Also nervous about being locked in for 360 days. Eliminates a lot of phone deals that may come up.

Yes! They are creating an account for you where they will deposit the $300 and some of the estimated taxes/fees into. So, they will drop in your estimated $325 into the holding account. Then they will be deducting the monthly $25 plan fee + overages + admin fees, + 911 fees + taxes + other non-mandatory B.S. fees from this $325 account balance. Given that they estimated about $25 in taxes for you up front, tells me they aren't including all fees and taxes into the estimate to keep you from bailing at the checkout. If you ever read the fees and tax breakdown link, you'll easily conclude taxes and all fees amount to anywhere from $5 a month to, the more common, $10 a month for the $25 plan. I am 99% sure they are intentionally leaving out something during the prepay estimation to deceive you from walking away. In the end, no matter how you or they slice the deal, you will pay over $400 for the 360 day plan.

Here, look at this link and calculate the taxes yourself https://www.att.com/cell-phone-se...0600aff12A

If you follow the simple math for California in this example, you total monthly taxes will be almost $10!

Monthly:
State CALIFORNIA Federal Universal Service Fund: 24.4%
State Universal Service Fund: $0.00
Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge: $1.25 - $1.50
Administrative Fee: $1.99
Other AT&T Surcharges: %0.34+ $0.31

My total taxes came up to 4.94 in Denver, Colorado. From what I've seen here it seems to vary greatly depending on location. I had Tmobile prepaid for years and when I paid it with my credit card taxes were always about .42 cents for a $30-$40 deposit so in my case the $4.94 does work out to .41 cents a month for a year. $300 for the plan, $4.99 for the sim and $4.94 for taxes = $309.93 or $25.82/month

Sorry buddy, your taxes are similar to California. AT&T will bill you around $9 a month in taxes and fees in Denver, CO. Don't come crying to the Slickdeals threads when your first month elapses and you'll discover the truth. Read my other replies to others for the full details.

Paying $35 each for 5 gig (which is plenty) with Cricket on AT&T towers. Service is great, price is fine. But I'd be really tempted on this since it comes with hotspot. I think I'll wait a month and see how it plays out.

From the link you posted, my state numbers are all higher than California.
I have the $40 prepaid plan right now and my taxes and fees come to less than $5.

Are u 100% sure that you work for att?

Edit: higher or equal to CA. And I am currently on att prepaid.
