Oh gosh why do you continue writing your username after your post 😱
Plus taxes and fees. If you live in IL like I do, taxes will be like $8 extra per month. There is always a $5 e911 fee plus other bogus fees.
mint is $240 for a yr on their 1 yr/8gb plan. They also have buy 3 months get 3 months free promotion for New comers right now

I just signed a "trial" 3 month Mint Mobile to try them out after leaving Sprint. I want to like their service, but cannot send pictures in text messages. Does anyone know a fix for this? Related YouTube vids aren't helping. Thanks.

Sorry buddy, your taxes are similar to California. AT&T will bill you around $9 a month in taxes and fees in Denver, CO. Don't come crying to the Slickdeals threads when your first month elapses and you'll discover the truth. Read my other replies to others for the full details.

Monthly tax and fee breakdown...
https://www.att.com/cell-phone-se...stid=20088

Monthly:
State COLORADO Federal Universal Service Fund: 18.8%
State Universal Service Fund: 2.60%
Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge: $1.25
Administrative Fee: $1.99
Other AT&T Surcharges: $0.35

That's what my total came up to. That link you posted, at the top it says that's the max they can tax you for your area. It states that actual taxes might be lower, so maybe that's why mine came out less than what you think it should. I don't know. For comparison I have Sprint Kickstart $25/mo right now and my total taxes are about $5.00 and that is postpay. Maybe prepaid is taxed differently because for the last 10 years I literally only paid .42 cents a month on my prepaid plan. As for coming back here crying after I find out you were right and I was wrong, no worries, I only signed up to post what my taxes were since there was confusion about it. I have no intention of crying to anyone on the internet if I end up having to pay more taxes. By the way, to those who were wondering about the autopay. When you get to that part in checkout, it tells you that autopay is not eligible for this plan and makes you decline it.

I agree with you.. I ported my sprint number to this promo and activated the plan today and I would say I am happy with the service so far. The total I paid $300 plus $22 tax. And the CS told me that even though I enable auto pay there will be $0 deducted from my CC for next 12 months. That means what you pay at checkout will cover the full one year of service and I could see the some in the plan summary on my account as well.

Got hold of sprint and ATT had a request to port out all 4 numbers so I had to change my sprint pin and have sprint cancel port out requests. What a mess. I am happy to be on post paid account. prepaid account can get nasty.
Dude I guess the CS, who spoke to you messed up. I did ported my Sprint BYOD number to this ATT promo and I managed to complete the porting and activation successfully today.

Though I had some issues initially to activate plan since my $322 payment got rejected by CC. But the lady on ATT prepaid manually processed the payment and enabled the promo plan to my account.

Anybody signed up for this using gift cards? I got through to the "payment" section at sign up and there's only an option for credit / debit card.

How were you able to get hold of a customer service person with Prepaid? Whenever I click the "chat now" icon from the prepaid site, I always get someone with the postpaid department. Then they give me a phone number to call, and it's all automated - can't get a real person unless you have an account with them already.

I just tried to activate my sims & att told me that this promo is for new lines only. I can't port lines over from sprint to this deal. This promo is for new lines only. Clearly, when i signed up it asked me for porting details which I entered and sim kit I got has my old phone number on it. I will be disputing charges for sim kit costs and if they end up charging me anything for it.
I'm on Sprint BYOD free for a year and when I check the number, it says it's eligible for port in for this ATT prepaid deal. As is my unlocked Note 9. Something must be wrong. There's no reason a Sprint number shouldn't be able to be ported in for this deal. BYOD free or post/prepaid or otherwise.

Thanks for posting!!! I currently get the Cricket 5gb plan for $318.00 per year after discounted pins. This At&t Prepaid plan would give me some nice benefits over Cricket like authorized Hotspot, rollover data and an extra 3 gbs per month. Gonna kick back and see what the Cricket changes are on the 11th and make a decision.
how do you pay that little? what plan do you have on cricket?

Yes, I'm 99% sure. AT&T is essentially locking you into a 360 day contract with a guaranteed rate of $25 but taxes and fees will be billed separately. AT&T is desperately trying to get your money upfront via a prepaid offer due to the risk of bankruptcy due to crushing debt from their Directv and Time Warner purchase.
Read the fine print. It explains in black and white that they will deduct taxes and fees from your AT&T prepaid account balance.

The Fine print when you sign up for this at checkout:
"Other monthly charges: Apply per line and may include taxes, federal and state universal service charges, Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge (up to $1.25), gross receipts surcharge, Administrative Fee, and other government assessments which are not government-required charges. Additional one-time charges may apply. See att.com/additionalcharges for more details on other charges for your area. In some areas, discretionary fees, taxes, or charges such as E911 fees will be debited from your AT&T PREPAID account balance as the law allows. "

Fees:

I pay $26.50 per month for the Cricket 5gb plan by using auto-pay and purchasing my service cards from Meijer. They've been running a buy one get one for 50% off lately.

I'm not experts but you might look into Google voice...I heard u just gv your number then just grab any mobile deal and get new number. Then you use gv to forward call to your main number that you gave gv.
Downside to GV is texting/mms is cumbersome and you have to use GV client to text unless you want a billion different numbers popping up in your native messaging client (when using GV text forwarding).

Dial (800) 901-9878 and wait for more options and then say CustomerService.
You no need to have a ATT number here.

One lesson that I learnt.. activate your new AT&T SIM card only via online portal. Try not to call the CS over the phone and ask them to activate this new sim as most of then doesn't aware about this new promotion and they will put you into the regular $30 monthly plan( that doesn't have any data plan). And it took me 3 hrs to get it fixed after being talked to 7 different persons..

Also this is online only promotion..
