One small tip... Try not to believe 100% everything that's been said here.. there are competitors everywhere ..
I didn't say they are filing for bankruptcy, they are at risk of defaulting. Debt and interest payments on the debt exceed their income. AT&T is living on borrowed time so they are trying to get funds from customers in advance to make payroll and stay afloat.

This is a great deal if you have the $300 to pay up front. I verified with the AT&T rep and I signed up for this prepaid service. I am paying $324.94 up front and I will not see another bill until late August 2020 if I decide to keep the service.
* $300 for 12 month
* $4.99 for a sim card since I am bringing my own device.
* $19.95 sales taxes
Total for 12 months is $324.14

This is a prepaid plan. No one will be charged fees or additional taxes monthly.

This is basically unlimited data for $25 a month ($300 upfront) Eight GB highspeed data each month with one month rollover. Once you use all your highspeed data you will still have unlimited data at a slower speed, but fast enough to stream music and a lot more.

Need help activating it

At the time of order, total was 304.99 but ATT only charged 4.99 for the sim.

so how do I pay $300 and get this plan activated?
I gave port in details while ordering
It sounds like you only ordered the sim if they only charged you $4.99 plus tax. You also needed to choose the plan at check out.

I think that's pretty much how everyone knows it works besides one person in this thread that supposedly works for At&t. Apparently At&t Prepaid doesn't do a very good job educating their employees on new offerings. I'm gonna use up my last month with Cricket and then head over to this plan. Was hoping I could just port right in from Cricket but that doesn't sound possible.

I'm currently on AT&T postpaid and would like to switch to this plan. Would porting out to Google voice and then back in to Prepaid be the best course of action?

I know I just said it..but you guys take a look at the walmart/att deal ..if you have 2+ lines the final price is as much for double the data (4 lines is identical with this)....

I would say no on Google voice for porting into ATT or ATT prepaid. I used to use number barn but under their faqs, seems like an issue with these types of services and porting into ATT.

I've been thinking about the 25gb Wally plan even though I have a single line and don't use much data. I would pay $30.00 for the At&t Wally plan if I can keep getting service cards for 25% off at Meijer. This 8gb plan comes out to about $28.00 per month in Michigan. Just not sure if we'll keep seeing 25% off At&t Prepaid cards.

That IS a great deal. Unfortunately, I just have a single line and not much use for all that data.

Wondering if I should port my AT&T postpaid account to T-Mobile prepaid for a couple of weeks and then port in to this 8gb plan. Hmmm.

That's how it USED to work, not anymore, so stop spreading nonsense based on your past history. Many states wised up and passed laws to collect taxes on prepaid in late 2018. This year, AT&T is charging all taxes on prepaid. If you don't believe me please tell me your zip code and then tell us your telecom tax rate, not sales tax, so we can all laugh at turkeys like you when you get your first monthly bill.

Sales tax and telecom taxes are different. Prepaid/postpaid telecom taxes are the same so if it showed you 24.4% for Florida then you will pay 24.4% no matter what.
Without getting into the fact that most of the fees are either padded or pure AT&T profit, e.g. the federal USF rate is 20.1% not 24.4%, I don't pay it. Does AT&T swallow it? Who knows? It's irrelevant because I don't - nor anyone else with an AT&T Prepaid account - pay 24.4% and a bunch of profit recovery fees on refills, and I have a ton of receipts and AT&T Prepaid account payment logs to prove it. I've bought "official" AT&T refills both in an AT&T store and through my Prepaid account; EVERY time, I get charged sales tax + $0.40 e911 fee. That's it. No USF, no regulatory fees, cost recovery fees. This yearly deal? Plan + sales tax + e911 fee.

I'm just telling you the facts but you seem to be bitterly angry for some reason and needlessly attacking me for your miserable financial decisions in life. Making the claim that the link I posted is for postpaid only just shows your lack in knowledge in the matter. Please do show us where the taxes are any different for prepaid. In the meantime, read this: https://www.att.com/esupport/arti...gsi=uqu4k3.
Needlessly? It's obvious you don't have an AT&T Prepaid account and don't know what you're talking about, yet you're spouting this misleading crap and scaring off people for whom this deal may actually work. You need to knock this off because 1) anyone with an account on AT&T Prepaid who has bought refills knows you are wrong, and 2) these posts, including the ones about AT&T's impending bankruptcy, are so egregiously bad that I'm beginning to get embarrassed for you.
