Oh gosh why do you continue writing your username after your post 😱
Plus taxes and fees. If you live in IL like I do, taxes will be like $8 extra per month. There is always a $5 e911 fee plus other bogus fees.

I went to an AT&T store a few days ago to get this done. Fortunately they were having trouble with their POS system and I couldn't pay. They gave me the SIM which was in their system and told me I could pay online. I had to call in as they put me on the wrong plan. The representative changed it to the correct plan. I saw that I could pay with refill so I bought $300 in refills for ~$270. I'm now paid up until 8/9/2020 with no additional fees or taxes. My net cost is $22.50 per month. This is the best deal I've seen for a plan with a major carrier with the price being less than 1/3 of what AT&T would charge for a postpaid line.

Paging mwins... How did the port out work out being a loyal customer and whatnot
My bill cycle just started on the 3rd. H2O just charged me for $38. I'll wait until the weekend of the 31st and will switch over to this deal. My plan is I'll walk into the ATT store and ask them to help me on this. I'll let you know how it goes when it comes to that.

Buy a tracfone sim from amazon with the $25 promo card. Port and sign up for $15 plan on tmobile. Get $25 amazon card then port to att.
Great idea, but I'm wondering... Straight Talk and TracFone are the same company, sounds like you're giving him an easy path to get his number onto the T-Mobile network. Wouldn't it be possible to simply purchase a Straight Talk (T-Mobile) sim kit and activate it on his existing Straight Talk account? The number transfer would be seamless that way, assuming it would then let him port out to AT&T. Can anyone chime in?

Edit: Now I'm wondering if maybe I could just port my number to Google Voice and then port back out to AT&T? They are saying my current GV number is eligible for transfer...

It's still possible though, he just needs to port to a non-AT&T network first. I'm curious if he'll be able to port from H20 by walking into a corporate AT&T store.

Please report back on how this works out for you, I'm trying to port from Straight Talk (AT&T) but it says my number isn't eligible for transfer.

Where did you refills? Target? Did you buy $100 increments?

Its midnight on east cost so I guess Target deal will expire in a few hours.

I want to port from Verizon prepaid, what is easiest way to do this with using the refill cards?

This deal won't end before my bill cycle is up...I just don't want to waste my $38 they just charged me. I'll come back here and let you all know what happens either if I can get this or not.

Are you saying that they are honoring this deal in-store now? And I don't understand how all of you guys are paying online with refill cards - is it necessary to have your initial credit card payment rejected to enable this option? Do you activate the SIM and get an account number somehow before actually signing up for a service plan?

Something happened with my payment, so I was only charged for the sim card, so I had to call in to activate the sim. They asked for payment over the phone, but I got disconnected, luckily. So I tried to pay online and saw the option to use a refill card. I remembered the target deal and used my red card. Slickdeal

Yay! Finally get to chime in on a deal. I had the same thing happen to me. Once I got the SIM card I called AT&T to have my phone number ported over. The rep was able to port over the number and the SIM card was activated. However, something messed up on AT&T end and my payment did not go through, they told me I had to call the payment verification specialist at 866.608.3007, which is a number that requires an active and paid phone line. Since my phone was ported over and I had no money in my account I wasn't able to call the number they gave me! So my work around was to activated my phones by buying $300 worth of AT&T Prepaid Phone Card from Target - (2x$100 and 2x$50). Which saved me $15 with their sale of BOGO at 10% off. Then I went to the AT&T Prepaid website https://www.paygonline.com/websc/refill.html and paid with the phone cards. Once all $300 was deposited, my phone was activated automatically. So, you might just skip the step in tying to pay with your credit card and pay with the phone cards.
I'm assuming old sims are no good. I had to enter a credit card online with the order as others have said. Total came out to $326 which includes sim card and taxes/fees. I used a $50 Visa gift card to place the order so full amount could not be charged. Sim card was the only thing showing as pre-authorized for $5.34. And if so can I then add activate it online w/o calling and use refund cards? I dont have phone number yet so cant use refill link.

Also is their a maximum number of refill cards you can use because tomorrow's Target deal is best on $50 dollar value cards.

I would say no on Google voice for porting into ATT or ATT prepaid. I used to use number barn but under their faqs, seems like an issue with these types of services and porting into ATT.
My long time Google Voice number shows eligible to be ported into AT&T, just saying.
