Sadly after looking at specs on acer website there is no mention of ips, only 1080p. You can assume tn panel here
I would personally get this with an extra 4gb stick of ram and save about $70:

This one has ips 276 nits, not a budget 210 nits ips or even worse, a tn panel like the ops model
Yes display is probably the most important thing to me when it comes to a laptop along with a minimum ryzen 3 or i3 cpu

ComfyView
this means it's TN, enjoy
The screen is TN panel, mediocre viewing angle at worst, color on this screen is also terrible. Otherwise, it's a great machine, everything works really fast
Upgradeable to 32gb using both slots.

Laptop suggested on amazon = actually ok screen, slightly weaker cpu (may be plus because battery life and size)
SSD is usually upgrade-able as well if we're going to pop the system open anyways.
With a laptop, a screen is probably more important than the raw CPU power, probably not gonna be doing huge data crunches on the road for most people.
Also anyone know if it has a backlit keyboard? And is the RAM soldered?

All the specs you want in a low to mid tier laptop but with a very decent ips screen not a low end ips.

Edit: not sure anymore. Im seeing mixed reviews on this models display whereas the cheaper i3 version is relatively bright.
