Seems like a good deal that ticks a lot of the right gamer laptop boxes for a reasonable price, but...

- no usb-C
- no Thunderbolt
- no card reader (not a big deal)
- ALL ports located on the left side is a bit odd.

For anyone not bothered by the above, ought to be a great gaming laptop.

No Thunderbolt affect it's long term usage with all the decent Thunderbolt docks giving laptops additional features down the line.

That said, this is more for weight for power, assuming cooling is able to keep up.

Had a laptop with thunderbolt previously. Why do you think it's important? You can purchase a hub with more ports and display options.. but to me just buy a desktop at that point. I'm not sure who uses a bunch of USB anymore either.. especially considering this is a gaming laptop it makes sense no ports on the right side where a mouse would most likely be utilized.

Thunderbolt is so overrated. Seen many laptops with one but haven't seen a single person who bought docks and gpu enclosures to extend a laptops life. For most ppl, it practically means nothing.

This laptop supports freesync since the display adapter goes through the Vega chip.

They dont advertise it for obvious reasons but if you download the generic AMD drivers and install them, the option will appear in the AMD settings.

It really does work. On my 1660 Ti version its great.

I guess I just don't use an SD card ever. Also, how is it easier to plug into an external monitor, keyboard and mouse? Why not just plug directly to the laptop?

Well. for one, the CPU doesnt throttle like literally every 6 and 8 core intel laptop chip.
