If you get the "Existing Customer" notice during any step, try making these changes.
- If email is flagged as an Existing Customer, try a different email. If you don't have another email, make a new one on gmail or whatever.
- If address is flagged as an Existing Customer, append your address by adding something that will still get it delivered in your case, apartment #, Suite #, etc. or try a different address, work, neighbor, etc
- If phone number is flagged as an Existing Customer, try a different one. Also, you can get a new number from Google Voice for free.
From the website: "After 30-days or 30GB of data, whichever comes first, you can return the device to any T-Mobile store or pass it on to a friend."

You can sign up for T-Mobile Test Drive above — there is no need to visit a store. Then the T-Mobile Test Drive hotspot will be shipped to you for free and your trial will begin when you insert the SIM card into the hotspot device and activate it for the first time on the T-Mobile network.

When you're done with the hotspot, which will stop working once the 30 days are up or once you hit the 30GB cap (whichever comes first), you can return it to a T-Mobile store, give it to a friend -- who can request a different SIM card and start a separate test -- or just keep it.

"The cheapest is $10 a month for 2GB of data, and it goes up to 6GB if you pay $25 a month. $40 a month gets you 10GB, $55 a month offers 14GB and $70 a month will give your hotspot access to 18GB. Finally, the most expensive plan gives you 22GB of data for $85 a month."
Can you let it expire, then use it several months later for a month. I guess there must be an activation fee or new sim card fee.

edit 2: signed up. I wonder how long I can wait to insert the sim. Devices like this would be handy to have when I lose comcrap internet.
