Man, am I crazy or is $85 for just the tool kind of a lot? I get the whole msrp thing but there's nothing to these things. Show me a $140 tool with battery deal and then we're talking but this doesn't feel super slick to me.

I just bought this a week or two ago. It's a great trimmer for me especially because I have the 80v mower, weed wacker, and blower. Great price!

edit: Now debating on returning it but I got the kit with the battery. The battery alone costs a lot.

Thanks for posting this. Rep'd and voted up.

This almost completes what I need/want from the 80v line. Just need the chainsaw and I **THINK** I am done.

Thanks again!

P.S. Thanks for the 20 off 100 coupon link too!!!! Rep'ing you as well.

Good deal. I'm considering getting this and cutting it to fit my Greenwork batteries. I have almost their entire 80v line except the hedge trimmer.

I know 'how' to do it, but has anyone actually done the modification. Any issues?

Got mine from the eBay I linked, is there another way of getting these?

I'm debating weather to get this trimmer or the Greenworks one. I have a ton of Greenworks 80v tools and batteries already.

Any cons in modifying this tool to work with Greenworks batteries?

Shouldn't be, they are more or less the same tool. It looks like you can either modify the battery and add a slot for the slide. Or remove the slide on the tool. I'd probably modify the tool since it is my only Kobalt tool and I'd otherwise need to modify all of my batteries.

I have this. Highly recommended. Real gas like power compare to 20-40V toys.

I have the greenworks bought before kobalt had one, I modded it to work as I replied above. But I'm waiting until kobalt catches up with the ego 21" dual battery unit. How kobalt didn't match that blows my mind
