No thanks. I was burned by AT&Ts grandfathered promo for Directv Now. Had a clause that basically said they could raise the rate when they wanted to.

5G won't have as much coverage area as LTE because of higher frequency band. We will have spots for 5G initially and then slowly cover block, street, town, city, state, and then whole country. Don't think because you hear 5G a lot means we are there, it's a really long roadmap which will take at least 3-4 years.

If you want your phone to die by the time you get to the destination. I've tried this while charging in the car and the battery doesn't charge fast enough to keep up with the usage. This is for a hour drive to the beach with 3 kids.
Your car battery (cig lighter) fuse is 15A @ 12v, so at 5v it can supply 36A.
If your phone draws anywhere close to 36A, you need a fire extinguisher.
LOL

If you use a cheap charger....i would not expect to get good results!

My truck has full signal in an area where my phone is lucky to get 2 bars. I need the internet for work and I'm working out of my truck most of the time.

Not to mention you basically get an extra 22gb of High speed data for $15. I know my niece uses the hell out of our family plan data cap on her iPad so we often pay for extra high speed internet by the end of the month.
Too lazy to pick up a wifi signal ? Unless you're talking about your isp cap.

True 5G in cars will never work right. It will be changing access points every quarter of mile.
You know shit about 5g then.
5g is supposed to have excellent hand over that will be undetectable.
This aint 5g and 5g is a LONG ways away other than the center of big cities. The shorter range will mean many more towers need to be placed. I don't see 5g cover the entire country any time soon, if ever.
But this isn't for 5g.

Worked for my Honda Odyssey. Had the $20 unlimited plan, now it's $15. For those asking why you would need this. I have 4 kids under 10 years old. They use tablets, plus the car's entertainment system and a fire stick. Our T-mobile reception isn't great in a lot of areas. Hotspots on our iPhones are a bit glitchy. It's just so easy to have the car WiFi's. Also thinking of putting an echo dot in the van too. Lol
How did we EVER farking survive car rides without the internet.. wow.

Yeah but after 22GB throttling, it's going to be painful for home use. There was a better deal with a specific device that didn't have throttling unlimited. I think the device itself is a bit pricey.

Yeah, I know. Thank you.

I was just making a point of how some people just don't care or are too ignorant to know that they're posting misinformation!

Not a good deal. Get yourself a AT&T unlock Netgear nighthawk hotspot. Sign up for the $30 unlimited plan and you can take it wherever you go it's better than this junk that station. I've been using my AT&T unlock not your hotspot for the past two years in my pocket without any problems whatsoever
Quote from Boz1 :
Really? Is that still available for $30/30 days?
Quote from TVM925 :
That right buddy. I take everywhere I go. It's on me 24/7 I even got friends and co-worker wanted to hook up to my hotspot.

I'm a very techy guy but I don't understand why i would need this or others.
I just use my Hotspot on my phone if i need wifi connectivity and i have a Tablet i pay 10 and month to be on my unlimited data plan.

Is it because i could just use my apps on entertainment unit (Like MyLink) without using my phone? Not saying it's a bad deal but what is the main use for using built in wifi, enlighten me.
There isn't really a good "usage case" for this type of service. There is just a business case for it.

If we lived in a world where everyone had the same cell phone service and we all paid a flat rate for data with no caps and cell carriers unlocked all kinds of simple things like bluetooth tethering on all devices, then this service wouldn't exist.

However, we live in a weird world where there are different carriers with different levels of service and strange roaming agreements. We live in a world with data caps on some devices and not on others. We live in a world where tethering may be disabled on your device or artifically limited.
Basically, we don't live in the engineer's world. We live in the sales/marketing world. Where nothing works, until you pay an additional $15/month.

You could, but your car needs to be power on and will drain your car battery.

If you mean ZTE Mobley with car connected plan, there is 22GB therottling, but they just didn't.
