there was a "free for life" data line limited to 200Mb data/per month (less than 10 minutes you-tube watching normally, you run out of data) ...
No carrier provides FREE unlimited lines.
I have 5 lines data on "free for life" 200M with ZTE Sync , it is more than enough for GPS tracking/report info for my cars.
1) Make 1 line (if it isn't already) a Mobile Internet line under Simple Choice. You get up to a $25 credit (or $35 credit if it's an older line), so make it the 6GB MI version, not the 2GB version.
2) Turn BingeOn to "on" for that line.
3) Get an Alcatel LinkZone for the MI line's sim. (EDIT: I see T-Mobile has the Coolpad SURF. I use the LinkZone and it works great. I don't know/haven't used the SURF.)
It's essentially an Unlimited line now.... you can stream all the music and video (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, etc., etc.) without any of it coming out of your data. It'll stream in 720p HD. (1080p tends to stutter...)
Cost will be $1.16 a month in tax.
I purchased a little zippered pouch in Best Buy to carry it and the charger around in. We've been using the LinkZone for our whole-home internet solution for 2.5 years now... works AWESOME! Kicked Comcast to the curb!
There is not a specific discount for converting one of your existing voice lines. The discount is applied to the cost of the mobile internet line, for some of our mobile internet plans you can get a $10 discount if you have a voice line with T-Mobile. In your case, the SyncUP plan would not qualify for the additional $10 off because we have priced it as low as possible for people that may not have voice lines.
They don't understand what I'm asking, and I'm having trouble explaining.
The mobile internet plans for hotspot devices are priced the same as the SyncUP plans, so if you wanted to get 6 GB of data on that line it would still be $25 a month. I know we are looking to get you the most bang for your buck and I want to provide you with the best possible resolution. Reviewing your info I have a solution that I think would be perfect for you. If you did have a phone for that line you no longer used, I can give that line unlimited data and then you would have 10 GB that you can use specifically for hot spot. It would still be $20 a month but you would be able to get 10 GB to use on the go instead of 6 GB priced at $25.
I'm trying to get them to clarify if changing it to a mobile internet line, as you've suggested, would affect the amount of credit I receive for the line, making it $5/month plus taxes.
I also can't see that BingeOn is included anymore, although unclear if that would carry over if I converted an existing Simple Choice line.
but my cars/SUV are Toyota, it directs me to buy Spark
Actually, I am using 3x ZTE SYNC ODB plugs (t-mobile version) for years . it is great.
I am not able to get $15 unlimited deal from at&t...

After you do this (if you're successful), then put your sim in a hotspot & turn BingeOn to "on."
Keep us informed what happens here... I'm curious to see if they'll still allow you to do this!
