No thanks. I was burned by AT&Ts grandfathered promo for Directv Now. Had a clause that basically said they could raise the rate when they wanted to.

5G won't have as much coverage area as LTE because of higher frequency band. We will have spots for 5G initially and then slowly cover block, street, town, city, state, and then whole country. Don't think because you hear 5G a lot means we are there, it's a really long roadmap which will take at least 3-4 years.

Anyone know what kind of speeds to expect?

Signed up a 2019 F150 and a 2018 Expedition w/ incar modems tonight.

Ran a couple speed tests from different areas.. 6.11 and 6.84Mbps down / 11.8 and 5.33 Mbps up.

Not exactly blazing speeds, nor would it be enough for a couple kids to stream their tablets on a roadtrip..

Would this hotspot count as a "line" for my att unlimited and more premium plan. The reason I ask is I have 3 lines $100 plus $35/line access fee. Than I get $15 multi line discount. But if I have 4 or more lines. I get a $30 multi line access fee.

Plus I have $10 a line loyalty discount

So if I add a hotspot. Since my multi line acces discount jumps from $15 to $30 (car hotspot would be considered 4th line?). I would be getting it for free?

Yep, and I heard rumblings that they're raising it AGAIN by another $5 in Jan.

If you received your free lines while on Simple Choice... here's what you do:

1) Make 1 line (if it isn't already) a Mobile Internet line under Simple Choice. You get up to a $25 credit (or $35 credit if it's an older line), so make it the 6GB MI version, not the 2GB version.

2) Turn BingeOn to "on" for that line.

3) Get an Alcatel LinkZone for the MI line's sim. (EDIT: I see T-Mobile has the Coolpad SURF. I use the LinkZone and it works great. I don't know/haven't used the SURF.)

It's essentially an Unlimited line now.... you can stream all the music and video (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, etc., etc.) without any of it coming out of your data. It'll stream in 720p HD. (1080p tends to stutter...)

Cost will be $1.16 a month in tax.

I purchased a little zippered pouch in Best Buy to carry it and the charger around in. We've been using the LinkZone for our whole-home internet solution for 2.5 years now... works AWESOME! Kicked Comcast to the curb!
mahermusic, have you found a device that has an Ethernet port that will work with this configuration?

Just to confirm the deal the op posted in month to month for $15 per month and not a contract deal correct? Thinking of doing this for one month for a big upcoming trip and than cancelling after a month.

An ethernet port? No, I'm not familiar with a device with an ethernet port to do what I've described above.... I've only used the Alcatel LinkZone.

You could. No contracts (but no prorated refunds either.) Just understand that this will go back to the regular price of $25 as of Nov. 1st. Anyone that subscribes to the $15 Unlimited before this date will keep it until they cancel. If you hop on the $15, then cancel it (after Oct. 31st), and THEN decide you want it back again, you'll just need to pay the $25/month. If you're 100% ok with that, then go for it!

I had $20/mo, called 1 (877) 865-7864‬ to cancel, they offered me the $15/mo and stated it will remain that rate until I cancelled. I was on the phone all off maybe 10minutes.
