This is tempting partially because the hardware/price, but also because of the Costco warranty which would probably give this a total of 3 years from Date Of Purchase (Costco apparently extends electronics warranties for 2 years). That's pretty huge for gaming laptops that can possibly be prone to overheating, right?
I wouldn't think weight would matter too much if you're looking at a 17" laptop.
There never seem to be many 17 inch laptops on BF, and the ones that do come up are terrible low end units. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, but I look every year and never find anything that's interesting (esp for 17").

This is a great deal from what I can tell. What are the negatives if any?

Honestly I'd expect a 1TB SSD and a higher res screen at this price point, but perhaps we'll see this by BF.

I don't know if I'd want a higher res screen on a laptop meant for gaming, 1080p on a 17" screen will look fine. The higher the res the beefier the graphics card will have to be which = more money. 144hz screen is nice with a 1660ti, this is a good 1080p gaming laptop. Can't beat Costco's return policy as well, pretty solid deal for a gaming laptop.

I wish, like you stated already, that it just had a 1TB SSD instead...why put in a slow noisy 1TB 5400rpm spinning disk in a laptop. 1TB SSD's are fairly cheap nowadays. At least the OS and software should all be installed on the 256GB SSD that comes with this so I'm betting the 1TB hard drive is blank and meant for storage anyways. If I bought this, I'd take it out and stick in a 1TB SSD. Once the 256GB SSD runs out of space then you can install all the games/software on the 1TB SSD.

Does this support a docking station through UCB-C, to support dual 4k displays simultaneously?

Thanks!

This deal is okay, not great. At $900 it would've been a steal.

Seems like a pretty decent deal for a 17". MSI laptops always seem to command a premium, even though user reviews don't seem to be much better, if at all, than other brands.

I'm curious if anyone knows how easy it is to access/replace the spinner on this model.
