Mind you I am not a professional but I am at the point now where I have bought and sold enough cameras with the big brands to realize that realistically most cameras made in the last 5 years, probably longer with good lenses will get you great photos. I've printed out a ton of photos in the last year and most of my favorites were actually with my APS-C Canons. I think for someone at my level probably an 80D is the best camera out there. I will say even though Nikon especially the D850 weren't on my radar, if it gets low enough I could definitely see it as a possibility. I bought into the Sony full frame hype and it's okay, but it's been almost a year and there isn't a single time I have held my camera and not hated how it feels and I wish had a Canon in my hand instead, not a single day. lol
Eh, I went mirrorless and I could go back to DSLR tomorrow with no issues.
Right now this is true but I feel 5 years down the line, most new lenses are gonna be made for mirrorless systems. Imo if you're starting to invest in a system right now, it makes sense to buy mirrorless.

this is a good deal. I've not seen an 850 this low before. I'm hesitant to buy... we are seeing 2400 Refurb and 2800 new right now. black friday is going to be good.

With good reason. The world has been at the tail end of DSLRs for a bit now.. Mirrorless is slowly taking over.

Nikon is about to release the D6. They are not going to stop making DSLR lenses any time soon.

This is true in a sense, however, they've already removed most (all?) of their mirrored DX cameras from future production and are introducing a mirrorless DX body this coming week. Aside from the D6, though it's possible a D7 could be released, the D750 successor could be the last FX mirrored body for Nikon.

Nikon could release a full-frame mirrorless-DSLR hybrid in F-mount. That would sell a lot of DSLR bodies and lenses. Their DSLR ecosystem is enormous.

Flagship camera and still the choice (alone with Canon Marks) for many uses: pro wedding photography, landscape, etc. Very good price.

That's rare. Add a inexpensive SquareTrade warranty. Btw, this deal does more than "save a few bucks".

buy this if you still have really really good nikon lenses and want to keep them, because this is an excellent camera for a good price. other than that I would thinking about mirrorless camera. Either way is good as long as you can handle that, it is a tool.
