Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

On Total Wireless' website, minimum is $50, but on Tracfone's, the minimum is $20. Hopefully not a YMMV, because I was able to purchase the $20 plan with the 6S just now.

check boost mobile pre owned
They have 6s for $100.
BUT you have to be careful, pre owned can be in slightly bad condition.
I ordered 4 iPhone 7's from them and 3 were ok. One had a faulty charger, the phone would charge if you left the cable a certain way.

It's up to you if you want to take the risk. Other than that, craigslist, offerup, letgo etc...
So, once we get a Boost mobile @ 100 , do we need to get it unlocked for using the Costco T Mob deal?

2 lines plus a free one- A total of 3 lines. They explained to me that its locked to those 3 phones being that it grandfathered in.

They suggested I open a new account (55+) two lines for $70, just have one of my parents open it.
Quote from fithos :
They are correct. The 2 lines plus 1 free for $100 One plan are never allowed additional lines. This has been the case for many years. All these T-Mobile promo deals this questions gets ask all the time during that time.
It is correct that there is a max of 3 lines on that plan, but you are NOT "locked to those 3 phones". That sounds like a strange thing for the salesperson to say.

You can always take your sim card out and put it into a new phone and the plan will not change. Also, I've upgraded phones on those lines multiple times over the years and switched with devices I've gotten from elsewhere without problems.

No need to unlock, but Boost is selling for $109, why not get it at Tracfone for $79.99 ? ( See above)

No. Just no cracks on screen. My 6s has speaker issues and the 6 had a aftermarket screen that wasn't very responsive. Everything was accepted. 6 was at&t locked.
My touch id (from an aftermarket screen) and front camera are not working on my 6S. Everything else is fine. I can factory reset it. Won't be a problem for trade-in??

If you can get prepaid card via ordering than everybody would have done that, as they will be able to choose the color and size.
You got screw. Cancel the order quick.

Yeah I quoted you both, just so the OP knew the sales person was probably wrong (didn't intend to say there was anything wrong with your answer)

Phone must be in working order.

Based on various posts, they check them when they arrive. How close -no idea.

No idea how close they check everything such as taking a picture with both cameras, or checking the ID. You MIGHT make it... but...

On past promos that were similar, there were reports of phones that were not accepted and the ENTIRE rebate was denied.

Is there any requirement for the conditions of a trade-in device? The lower right corner of my 6s was shattered but the phone is fully functional and the screen is fine. Will this 6s qualified for trade in?
Screen damage is binary. It is damaged or it is not damaged. Which do you think yours is?

Quote from talplotkin :
Sorry at Costco kiosk right now. Guy says don't cancel before 6 months. Seen people come in and on His screen the person shows he owes that money.
Unless TMO changed since last year, you're just fine cancelling once you have your rebate.

The Wireless Associates rep (not Costco or TMO employee) is lying to you because he doesn't get his commission if you cancel before 180 days.

Quote from John7208 :
I was told the sim for the new line must be in the iphone 11 purchased to get the rebate. So what I did was move my current number to the esim on the Iphone 11 and leave the new line added as the actual sim. So 2 numbers are active on the phone. The rebate should go though because one of them is the number registered for the rebate.
That was not true for me last year. Activated phone on new SIM, left it overnight, then swapped my old SIM into the new phone. Received my rebate without any issue.

Cool way to handle the possibility though.

Quote from MikeM12 :
No. I guess he forgot to do that....
I guess you're not getting your rebate.

Best go back and get it straightened out.

Quote from onemoredeal :
Someone said in prior post that the promotion run to the end of the month. Is that true?
The price promotion may be. The rebate promotion is currently showing valid to 11/7. It may or may not get renewed. Past pattern has been that it has been renewed a couple times, but the valid-until date is very clear.

Quote from Blade107 :
From what I've read in this thread it will affect the rebate. You shouldn't replace the SIM till all is settled with the rebate.
There's a lot of crap info in this sort of thread as people repeat the bullsht they're told by the kid at the kiosk. Who doesn't work for either T-Mobile or for Costco.

My actual experience from last year was that moving the SIM from my old phone into my new phone had no effect on receiving the rebate.

Quote from lord_gooner :
So this is a straight rebate card or monthly credits? A bit confusing since it looked like rebate card initially.
Depends.

If you buy an in-stock phone and have it in your hands that day you get the lump rebate and can cancel the extra line afterwards.

If you order a phone then you get 24 months of bill credits ... which end if you cancel the extra line.

Quote from befriendly :
I was informed by the rep that if I can cancel the line after 90 days, T-mobile would charge me for the rebate. How accurate is this statement?
It's bullsht. You'll be fine to cancel after getting your rebate.

Quote from ambatirahul :
Is it that if we cancel the lines after receiving the GC... We will be charged with amount given on the GC? The Costco rep told me that we need to have the lines for 180 days!!
See above. The rep doesn't work for Costco nor does the rep work for T-Mobile. Third party company runs the kiosk. The rep gets their commission clawed back if you cancel within 180 days. So they lie to you about how long you need to keep the line active.

Does anyone know if the IMEI of the phone to be traded in is recorded somewhere? The 6s is still on the way so just checking if I can take a 6s then do this and send that 6s when I get it.

It is recorded. Last year I used a different 6s when I bought the Xs and came back when my total wireless 6s trade in 6s was delivered to have it switched; took about 5 minutes.
