Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.
The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

Here's what happened.
November 10. I go to Costco for this promo. The rep tells me I don't need to add a line. I tell him I want to. He says you don't have. I asked will I qualify for $580 and he says yes cause your 2nd line is upgrade eligible. Next day I called him to make sure and then he tells me "no its upto $580 depending the condition and model and size of the phone". I said why didn't you say that yesterday. He says we misunderstood.
November 13. I go back. Since I didn't activate the IPhone 11 purchased on Nov 10 as in put sim card in the phone. He creates a new line and attaches this phone. All set. Nope, I go home and check and now there's installment plan on my 2nd line. Ironically the installment plan is for my old IPhone 8 which I was gonna trade in but IMEI showing belongs to new IPhone 11.
November 14. I call him and he says he can't cancel that Equipment Installment only T-Mobile can and I would have to get a rep who knows what he's doing. I call T-mobile rep, also talk to supervisor they said it has to be done at Costco.
November 15. This idiot is off so I couldn't go
November 16. I go in and he now cancels the new line I added on November 13 and attaches this IPhone to a new line he's opening again. Luckily I never activated the phone so it wasn't tied to a number, or so I thought. Don't know why he didn't activate it for me each time I was there. Also, I have canceled the 3rd line he created on November 13. He has the nerve to ask me to call T-Mobile to add a line. So I do. Does not give me a new T-mobile RMA mailing label because now I am sending a 6S cause since I am adding a 3rd line, let IPhone 8 stay on second line. He says, use the same label. I ask RMA is tied to IMEI, he goes no it isn't. I have called T-mobile and they sent me the correct mailing label. On top of this, since I activated new line by calling T-mobile I have zero paperwork for this new line.
Now I am trying to activate my phone on that new line, and sim card is invalid. Remember how earlier I said, phone number wasn't tied to phone. It was tied to the sim in the phone. I only added a line with T-Mobile while I was in store but since the phone was at home, I couldn't activate the phone in-store. I am guessing that sim card is tied to the number for the line opened on November 13.
Long story short, Costco Wireless does have some idiots. Ironically, this guy also happens to be the manager. This is after FIVE trips to the THREE trips to the store, and now I will have to go back for a new sim card because T-Mobile will mail me and it takes about a week and might get charged for it. This has definitely been very stressful, and raised my blood pressure. I am already filing complaint with Costco, Wireless Advocates, and T-Mobile. This shouldn't be this difficult.

Like I am in City1 and my friend is in City2. We want to start a new tmobile account and get two lines (one for each) with each iPhone...
Do I need to open account with 1 line and my friend can add another line in his city with my tmobile account details?
or
Do i need to open 2 lines together and if possible to get shipped second iphone to his city's costco?
Thanks in advance for suggestions.
Actually my question was if tax would be on 630 or actual amount of 700?
Likewise for iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro max, will tax be on discounted price or actual price
