Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

Make sure you grab ALL document in OP post. This deal has been a nightmare for me.
Here's what happened.

November 10. I go to Costco for this promo. The rep tells me I don't need to add a line. I tell him I want to. He says you don't have. I asked will I qualify for $580 and he says yes cause your 2nd line is upgrade eligible. Next day I called him to make sure and then he tells me "no its upto $580 depending the condition and model and size of the phone". I said why didn't you say that yesterday. He says we misunderstood.

November 13. I go back. Since I didn't activate the IPhone 11 purchased on Nov 10 as in put sim card in the phone. He creates a new line and attaches this phone. All set. Nope, I go home and check and now there's installment plan on my 2nd line. Ironically the installment plan is for my old IPhone 8 which I was gonna trade in but IMEI showing belongs to new IPhone 11.

November 14. I call him and he says he can't cancel that Equipment Installment only T-Mobile can and I would have to get a rep who knows what he's doing. I call T-mobile rep, also talk to supervisor they said it has to be done at Costco.

November 15. This idiot is off so I couldn't go

November 16. I go in and he now cancels the new line I added on November 13 and attaches this IPhone to a new line he's opening again. Luckily I never activated the phone so it wasn't tied to a number, or so I thought. Don't know why he didn't activate it for me each time I was there. Also, I have canceled the 3rd line he created on November 13. He has the nerve to ask me to call T-Mobile to add a line. So I do. Does not give me a new T-mobile RMA mailing label because now I am sending a 6S cause since I am adding a 3rd line, let IPhone 8 stay on second line. He says, use the same label. I ask RMA is tied to IMEI, he goes no it isn't. I have called T-mobile and they sent me the correct mailing label. On top of this, since I activated new line by calling T-mobile I have zero paperwork for this new line.

Now I am trying to activate my phone on that new line, and sim card is invalid. Remember how earlier I said, phone number wasn't tied to phone. It was tied to the sim in the phone. I only added a line with T-Mobile while I was in store but since the phone was at home, I couldn't activate the phone in-store. I am guessing that sim card is tied to the number for the line opened on November 13.

Long story short, Costco Wireless does have some idiots. Ironically, this guy also happens to be the manager. This is after FIVE trips to the THREE trips to the store, and now I will have to go back for a new sim card because T-Mobile will mail me and it takes about a week and might get charged for it. This has definitely been very stressful, and raised my blood pressure. I am already filing complaint with Costco, Wireless Advocates, and T-Mobile. This shouldn't be this difficult.

The rep in Costco did say simple choice is not eligible and he said only unlimited plans are eligible and then I said I had simple Choice with unlimited data. Then he said it is eligible. I am not 100% sure whether it will work because I can't get it since they have no iPhone in stock. If anyone is able to get the deal with unlimited simple choice plan and confirm, it would be great! Thanks
Inquired at my local Costco (Webster) about the SC Unlimited possibility, reps there didn't know except what was on their promo sheet - they called their TMO contact to check and that person said it wasn't - so I didn't get one. Good luck with yours if you tried it.

Thanks for your response. What would it be okay to add more people to my plan to bring the cost down?
Absolutely OK to add more people. Just don't change the plan type to a non-qualifying plan, but any Magenta or essentials plan will work.

some have mentioned that the kiosk reps say the member has to be a member for a certain amount of time.
Thank you chaoss and Blade107 for your replies. This seems to be definitely YMMY. I really wanted a iPhone 11 base. The rep at the one store that had it said membership needs to be 14 days at least. The other store guy said technically I am not supposed to, but will. So had to get the Pro model instead. So ended up with the Pros.

Boston metro area stores seem to now have a mix of 11 base/pro and pro max models on stock. I was able to get 64GB Pro models. Would have preferred base 11 with 128GB, but only one store had two in stock and would not sell to new membership.

Does anybody know if this can be done in two different cities?
Like I am in City1 and my friend is in City2. We want to start a new tmobile account and get two lines (one for each) with each iPhone...
Do I need to open account with 1 line and my friend can add another line in his city with my tmobile account details?
or
Do i need to open 2 lines together and if possible to get shipped second iphone to his city's costco?

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Actually my question was if tax would be on 630 or actual amount of 700?
Likewise for iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro max, will tax be on discounted price or actual price
OK, so if Costco is selling something for $630 (no matter how much is Walmart/Target/Amazon selling for), they will have to charge tax on $630 correct?

No.. It is not always that you will understand all perspectives.. When did i brought walmart/target/amazon selling price here? I was referring to price in costco.. Probably Original amount is $700 in costco as well but they are giving 10% discount only for tmobile... If I remember correctly then I have seen best buy in the past charging tax on the original amount instead of discounted price in case of carrier phone activations for new lines or upgrades.. There were even more similar cases of wrong tax charges by walmarts... any ways its better to confirm if someone is not clear.. thats the use of this community.. You can think whatever you want that you know everything but its not always true Smilie
