Because I switched from Mobile-1 to this stuff, and I never looked back. I use this on my various cars. Great Brand, and no hating on Amazon. This shit is good.

Anyone know what makes this "high mileage"? Is it bad to use it in a car with lower mileage?

Seal conditioners and the detergent package are the only real difference. It will be fine in a vehicle less than 75k but it's always a good idea to follow manufacturer recommendations.

Looks like the same thing as Walmart's SuperTech. Both AFAICT are manufactured by The Warren Oil Company. Everyday price at Walmart is pretty much the same.

High milage oils just have more wear and conditioners in the oil. You can use it in your "low" milage car without worry. Just fill with the proper oil that your engine requires. viscocity, API SAE SN SN+ etc.

Seems worth $0.07 to have somebody lug the heavy jug of oil to my house, though. LMAO

Excellent answer by tourbound6. My caviat is once you start using high mileage you should keep using it because the seal enhancers are needed for the seals to stay the same size once the new high mileage oil is used. Pat Goss said this on motorweek. If your car is not leaking then I would stick to non-high mileage oil. My $.02.

If you're curious about whether to pull the trigger on this for a higher-end car you want to baby, there are several youtube videos that attempt to breakdown this Amazon offering and what its ideal usecase is.

After watching a couple, what I got out is this Amazon Basics seems to be created from mineral-based starters rather than truly synthetic. Its detergent formula is fairly similar to others, but due to not being a true-synthetic, it was recommended you not try to go the full 7.5k-10k miles on this one. You can certainly use it, just don't assume it'll hold up the same as say a Mobil1/Penzoil Platinum/Royal Purple etc.

M1 & PP are still group-III "synthetic", this the same thing as this when it comes to base stock. Most "synthetics" are not real synthetic oils.

10w-30 HM Synthetic is $14.44

This oil is made by warren. Same oil as Walmarts supertech, Mag1, and many other brands. Its a good oil that meets SN+ spec. So use it like any other oil.
