Always need to consider the transfer fee for balances transfers, and should be included in this post.

"There is a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater."
EDIT FROM MAY 2021-- THIS POST IS TWO YEARS OLD. THE CARD IT MENTIONS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE OPENED.

PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO A TWO YEAR OLD POST WONDERING WHY YOU CAN NOT FIND THIS SPECIFIC CARD/DEAL ANYMORE.

Chase Slate is only 15 months but 0% balance transfer fee.

The slate itself sucks as a card to actually use for anything other than the BT, but if you're mainly concerned about the BT, and the 3 extra months won't kill you, it saves you 3% of however much you're transferring over this... plus once you're done with the BT you can product change it into a genuinely useful card like a Freedom or something.
After years of being on airline miles cards I switched to this card. I am very happy with it. Airline miles are worth an average of 1.3 cents per dollar spent these days. This card is worth 2 cents per dollar to me as a shopper. It takes VERY little effort to redeem the 2% cash back. I enjoy the value and simplicity of this card. I find the citi web site and mobile app to be stronger than alternative bank sites and apps. I don't have the time or desire to manage multiple cards.

Another option is the Navy Federal Platinum card - I just got approved a couple weeks ago. The current offer is 12-months 0% interest on balance transfers with no transfer fee. Also, there is no annual fee and my interest rate is 14.37%. You may be able to do better on the APR if your FICO score is higher than mine - the rates range from 7.74%-18.0%.

Also wanted to add that when I have called customer service, the experience has always been excellent. I definitely can't say that about a few others.

Is it by invite only, can we become a member for non veterans?

There is way to avoid transfer fee - it comes with 0% apr on purchase form18 months. So you have to make all daily purchases with this card and set aside the money you have for your monthly expenses to pay your other cards with high interest.

That's not at all the same

As an Army guy- I hate having a "Navy Federal" account Wink lol but it really has been far superior than USAA. They screwed me when they slashed my limit 85%. I was at the Apple Store wondering why I kept getting rejected. Called and they said system generated actions and can't be changed.

I use my Chase Amazon as without even trying, I notice I have hundreds in credit. That's usually my "fun" money for a wish list item.

There really should be no reason debit cards are used, you get 0 benefits.

Can you send me a referral code and I will use it to signup for navy federal

There seems to be no limit, unlike by Dividend card that has a max of $300 per year.

Isn't that only for vets/service members?

Yes, but if you know a family member they can allow you to open your own account.

I applied today and they gave me a 3k dollar credit line. My bank of America has 81k and my chase 42k. I guess maybe that's why, but what am I going to do with 3k!

What is this you say about "product change?" I've had the slate for probably 10 years and after the bt was paid off, I just use it enough to keep it open...because I have Barclays Priceline card with cash back. the Slate interest would be ridiculously high if I didn't pay off every month. How do I get educated on upgrading i'm not sure what to google but have excellent credit so if I could get it converted to a better card...I would. I don't want to just call the cc company and talk to them because I prefer to do my research first. Thanks for any guidance

Just call chase and request to change your slate to a different card. I had my Slate changed to a Freedom Unlimited a while ago. Same credit line and no hard inquiry but might be different for every person.

I don't understand their algorithms. My wife opened an account and wasn't expecting a good CL. But they gave her 10k. She only has two other CCs with 5k and 15k limits.

Me too. They gave me 3k limit while my BoA has 35k and Chase has 40k limits

Neither of these statements are true. The minimum redemption is $25, not $50. And you CAN redeem as a statement credit.

Never redeem for a statement credit, it negated the "1% when you pay" reward.
