I suggest researching the free 15 page per month printing option plan a little more closely… It may require a credit card and auto billing set up. The fine print for the 15 free pages is as follows:
Free Printing Plan: The free printing plan allows you to print 15 pages per month at no cost (paper not included) for the life of your printer. Additional pages are excluded and will be charged to customer credit/debit card at the end of the month at a rate of $1 per each additional set of 10 pages (customer to be charged $1 for each set even if customer doesn't use entire set). HP reserves the right to modify or cancel the free printing plan anytime on 60 days' notice. This offer cannot be redeemed for cash except as required by law. Additional information available in HP Instant Ink Terms at https://instantink.hpconnected.com/terms. Free printing plan not available on all printers.

Note: if you need to print 200-300 pages in one day (maybe you have some thesis paper or need to print out a bunch of old tax returns), you can simply buy a non-instant ink version of the cartridges and put them in (both color and black ink). it will not count towards your monthly allotment until you put in instant ink cartridges back in (though they might dry out if you don't store them properly. worst case: contact HP and they'll ship you new cartridges without penalty)
______ Note: This printer IS eligible for the free plan, you have to CALL, and they will manually downgrade you. best part is that they will waive the 2.99 for the first month, so you can print out 50 pages and then get downgraded to the free plan. starting december.
I purchased an Envy and a Deskjet throughout my college experience, and I must say that the Envy was definitely the better of the two printers. The scan bed on my Envy finally broke after years of use, but the print quality is a night and day difference compared to the DeskJet. For $30 it's a great way to be able to print things yourself and decorate your dorm with memes 😊

Can anyone speak to this? Looking to buy one specifically to use with the free instant ink plan.
I do have This model but not much experience to share since I only use it for print labels and currently I had this one on 50 pages plan so far was my best option to enroll on this and way better to buy inks I can tell the ones provided by HP last long than the retail stores.
I just googled it. It is a ink subscription service. Free for 15 pages, 2.99, 4.99 for 100 pages, etc per month. You get ink delivered to you when the printer sends a signal to HP that it is running low.
I would also like to know if the free sub works on this printer.
But this one is not eligible for the free plan, correct?
Would also love to know this.

What is this plan?
Tried to find a list on the HP website but it takes me in circles. Bestbuy doesn't list it as eligible.
