MSI - 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 - 512GB Solid State Drive - Matte Black With Gold Diamond Cut

This is one of the best thin and light gaming laptop out there! The price is great! If I didn't purchase the razer blade open box, I'd pick it up!

The easiest and simplest is to use intel XTU program and set your voltages to w/e is stable on your system.

ThermalStop is a tiny bit more complicated but it gives you more options.

These are really good guides to undervolting. It is super easy to do.
Runs hot and throttles quickly.
All these ultra thin and light gaming laptops run hot from the factory because of stock over voltage. You need to undervolt them and they run fine. I have a .145v undervolt on my gs75 and run games for hours and peak at ~88C for cpu which is perfectly acceptable and doesn't thermal throttle.

How's the build quality compared to the similar Razer blade 15 that costs $2k? Seems that with the MSI you get double the ram and it's lighter at 4.2 lbs vs 4.6lbs. However, Razer is slightly smaller. All other specs are similar

I like the build quality of razer, but razer has a lot of software and bios issues. I just broke one which support asked me to disconnect WiFi card for a fix. I refused and went to pick a different open box.

MSI has much less BIOS and software issues. Unless you can find a razer blade white at $1,500, this GS65 is a much better deal. However, it's hard to feel GS65 is a premium laptop unless you remove all stickers.

Great deal. Not a fan of the keyboard though.

Just bought it, but Best Buy cancelled my order. They said that it is out of stock (even though the website doesn't say so)

I've read that the motherboard is hard to access in these.

Yes apparently this has the "inverted" motherboard which requires you to remove the entire mobo in order to access the RAM and SSD slots. At least it has 32GB RAM which means it's dual channel already, but I've heard that the SSDs are cheap and slow on these, plus there is an empty m.2 slot.
