Anyone who upgraded the RAM looking to offload one of the 4GB RAM sticks that came with it? I'd be fine with 2 x 4 GB. Send me a PM.

Have you hit f5 to turn on the keyboard lights?

Question for power users: Can I leave a 128 gb SD card in the card reader and use that to hold all data files? Pros and cons?
Of course you can, but it will be pretty slow compared to an SSD. Not sure if this laptop's SD reader is internally connected via USB or PCIe; if it's the former it will be especially slow, but even via PCIe SD cards tend to be around 10-20% of the speed of an SSD. And SSDs are probably more reliable long-term.

Just got this thing, no lighted keyboard. Going back.

Look on page 1 for the wiki entry with the picture of the box with the CPU sticker.

I uploaded that photo, and make sure your sticker is the same, if yours doesn't,
then you got the wrong one.

You just beat me to this. Mine is coming tomorrow and was looking to upgrade to 8GB with a matching stick. I'm also interested in buying/trading with anyone who is swapping out their old 4GB stick. Send me a PM too. Thanks!

I just ordered it through their website and will be delivered in 2-3 days. Any chance I can figure out the processor (i3 vs i5) on this laptop without opening up the box? Hopefully it's i5 and not too late in the game? Does it also have touchscreen? For all the pros out there, Do you guys recommend getting extended warranty on this laptop through square trade or just use it for 2-3 years and throw it away if something happens to it? BTW I bought it using my Citi-Costco card. Thanks
There is a label outside box and it says "i5"

How is the i5 processor for some photo editing work?

Photoshop, lightroom, adobe premiere etc?
Runs 4K video from the most recent DSLRs pretty well?
I dunno man, I would get a desktop computer than this laptop.

Added a screenshot of my Pass Mark score. That is 20GB Ram (added Crucial 16GB 2666) and with a 1TB Intel 660p NVMe drive.

I have done a few things.
1. added 16GB ramstick (moving stock 4GB to 2nd slot) to 20GB.
Can you tell me the rationale for adding 1x16GB instead of 2x8GB? So you don't waste the 4GB stick that came with it? Does the dual-channel advantage not matter too much once you have 4GBx2 of dual channel? Also, what about the speed discrepancy between the two SODIMMs?

I was going to put 2x8GB into one machine, and take the leftover 4GB from that unit and put it into a second one to get 2x4GB for a family member to use. But maybe I should just go 1x16GB in mine and 2x4GB in the other one?

Want something ultra portable and also that will not break the bank.

I have an old upper tier XPS 17 inch from back in the day. But it's ginormous and I don't want to haul it every where.

If this little gem can hack it, then that'll be great.
