Home Depot is running a Free Tool Promotion right now.

The beauty of this deal is that I needed one (or two) new batteries.

So I bought the Battery Kit ($149 - NOW $129) and received the 2-Pack of 4.0Ah Batteries ($99 - NOW $79) for "free."

The discount was prorated across the Battery Kit and Batteries so I was able to return the Battery Kit and the net cost for the 2-Pack of 4.0Ah batteries was $59.48 NOW $49.00.

Two 4.0Ah batteries for $59 - NOW $49!!

Yes, but the 4.0Ah batteries are also on sale.

So the net cost for (2) 4.0Ah batteries is $59.

I haven't seen anything near that and I've been watching.

$99 for 2 pack of 4aH is the regular price for the older version of the 4aH ones
This is for the P145:

The 2-pack 4Ah HP (newer version) was $60 in August. Not saying this isn't a good deal if you need batteries *right now*, but it's not like it's the deal of the year. https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/493678

Was unaware deals had to be the "deal of the year" in order to post. My bad.

Solid deal if you need Ryobi batteries.

The August deal sold out within an hour of hitting FP, and it got 140+ upvotes, which means that a ton of them sold within a very short span of time. This 2-pack was also available for $50 from Google Express a year ago, but that deal was also very short-lived and very highly upvoted. The Ryobi deal pouncers among us (me included) need to resist crapping on such deals just because we've been able to get in on these early in the past.

Bottomline; despite the additional steps involved, this is a great deal. It doesn't have to be deal of the year to be a great deal.

Also, I think it does belong in it's own thread. The $150 kit with free tool is otherwise a lackluster deal and I would never have realized that it amounted to this price for the 4AHs.
