People asks the same questions . You just need to go to T-Mobile website. The deals is right there - identical to Costco , the only difference is 24 month bill credit through t-mobile website vs prepaid card + small bill credit for the trade in

($700 for iPhone 7, 7+, 8, 8+, X, XR, XS, or XS Max or $500 for iPhone 6s or 6s+),

Too bad you can't have more than 3 lines on a 55+ account.

On the Costco site though, it does not say "only" $500 for the 6s. As I read it, it's up to $700. The "up-to" is based on the cost of the new phone you purchase, right?

whyyyyy would you do this.

And anyway, one of the main restrictions is, if you canceled a line within the past 90 days, you have to reactivate those lines in order to qualify.

Im not the only person to ask this in this thread because its a reasonable question - I knew it'd be a longshot but wanted to see if anyone has already tried.

Yes, not sure where OP saw only $500 for 6s. I read the linked ad promo as stating the trade is for $700 or the price of the new phone, whichever is less.

Go there and read the term. Costco term is exactly same as t-mobile . Also identical last time with 580 for 6s trade in. Difference is bill credit vs prepaid through Costco

Respectfully, you are RISKING being banned from Costco.
I am not sure if you simply added a line or opened up a whole new tmobile account. In past threads, there have been at least a handful of people who have gotten banned from buying any type of phones from the kiosk at Costco. In one instance, I read that a user got banned from costco.

So let's say you purchased the BASE iPhone 11 64gb for $630 and did the $580 rebate...you are willing to return all that, go back to costco and start again for simply getting $50 back? You will not get $700 just because it says $700.

If the price of the 64gb 11 is 630, you will only get $630. If the price is $700, you will get $700. If the price is $750, you will get $700.

Where in the terms does it state this?
The "up to" part. This is how T-Mobile always does their rebate, you will not get more than the purchase price (before taxes).

Confused
I created a T-mobile account for the $580 deal. Added 4 lines, which was the limit on the promo. Can I add 4 new lines, with iPhone 7 trade-in to get this deal? I'm planning to cancel all the lines after unlock and receiving the vGC. Thanks!

I disagree. At least not how it's written on the Costco wireless promo site. Did you go to a Costco and see this posted with the $500/$700 difference?

where did you find this information.

I have done this twice. They can be locked to a carrier, but must not be iCloud locked. They do not care if there is a sim card in it or what account it is on. One of mine was a purchase online.
That guy cost me $5 because after reading his two posts, I freaked out and cancelled my first order and paid $5 more just to get a TMO version instead :/
