The LG 27GL83A is basically the sRGB color gamut version of the popular LG 27GL850.

If you missed the Acer Predator XB271HU deal from earlier today, don't fret cuz this is the better monitor for a cheaper price. It's a newer panel, 10 bit color rather than 8 bit, slightly faster pixel response time and input lag, and is G-sync compatible. The Acer was overpriced to begin with and today there's not much difference between actual G-sync and G-sync compatible. You can't go wrong with either monitor but for your money this is the better value, and imo the better screen.

Saw an ad scan in a reddit thread for amazon and it literally just changed from $379.99 to $319.99 while I was commenting. Aside from bad contrast in dark rooms (like most IPS) this thing is supposed to be a beast with a much better panel than the Acer Predator that sold out already. It's also 100% sRGB. I'd Jump on it.

This looks like a pretty good deal to me given that this monitor only came out a month ago. The specs are good on paper. 1440p 144hz "nvidia certified" freesync. And it performs pretty well compared to 500$ monitors like the Asus PG279Q according to rtings.com

Is there really a point in getting the dci-p3 wide color gamut for gaming and general desktop use without HDR? My research tells me no. That makes this monitor the best bang for your buck, imo. I'll put the $130 saved on the 27GL850 towards a future upgrade.

Exactly. And I don't need USB inputs on a monitor.

See my post above. Unless you have a specific use for wide color gamut or need USB inputs (In 30 years of PC use I never needed USB inputs on my monitor) I think the 27GL83A is the way to go. I just bought one myself.

And thank you. Been waiting for 1440p 144 under $350 but didn't want a old monitor. Returning the 1080p from Costco

It's kind of a get what you pay for thing. The 279q has better color accuracy. However that 279q is also famous for dead pixels and not always getting a good one on the first go in a percentage that seems a little high. i went through 2 before i got a perfect one

This new LG IPS g-sync line is like the value King and I even have one for a secondary monitor but they aren't really on the same level as a 279q. Now if you don't have really particular eyes you probably will never notice but if you put them right next to each other you can see it
