I work with Better,com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.

Does better not have rates lower than 2.25%
Lowest I see in my rates is 2.25%
This is for 15 yr fixed loan

how long does it take for better to get back about matching a LE offer? i sent one over via email yesterday havent gottena response yet.

old escrow is with old lender. It does not get transferred over. Old lender will send money, eventually. You may be able to get Better to adjust the number of months. I actually got them to remove escrow all together when I complained that other lenders did not require it

Call, call, call call, and call again to keep bugging them. Took me 9-10 calls to get them to finally match. If you wait to long, they will request a new LE.. which is what they did to me the first time. Dont wait around.. bug them.. also setup a call from your guy on the website as well, to push the issue.. and then keep calling..

Usually same day - at least it was for me. You can call your Better Mortgage contacts or even schedule a call via their website; I have almost always found their email responses slow (keep in mind a lot of people are refinancing with these low rates)

It's YMMV. The advertised goal is to beat by $1k. It happens often, but not always.

BUT - once you have locked, they will not do the $1k.... but they did match the other rate, and when I emailed them better closing costs (title), they matched that as well.

If other lenders have fluff fee like underwriting and processing fees, does Better try to take those into account. I have a good rate with 0 points from loan depot but they add this fluff.
