You could flash the BIOS from Windows or by booting the EFI program. If you're working in Windows, you could choose the GUI app or the TUI app. The GUI app did not work for me (quit immediately upon starting to flash), but the TUI app did the trick. I ran
Did you also flash the EC file?

I did not flash the EC file. I guess it must be done from the EFI shell.
Anybody else having this problem?
The Motile defaults to booting first from removable media (USB stick has highest priority), which is insecure, but works out fine for testing purposes. If you need to inspect or change your boot priorities, press DEL while booting to enter BIOS.
Once you've booted into the EFI shell (which is really just another EFI program), you're greeted with your drive mappings, and a command prompt. My bootable USB stick came up as FS0, so I did the following (exercise extreme caution, plug in the power, etc, to avoid bricking):
If you'd like to play around some more with the EFI shell, note that it comes with some useful commands, and some usual terminal conventions (such as tab completion and history) apply. You could list the commands by typing help -b. You could flash the BIOS this way too, I suppose.
Be careful, and good luck!

Now for the bad news.. the wifi range is TERRIBLE! I have a mesh network and this laptop constantly bounces between my 2.4ghz and 5ghz network. Speedtest goes from 1Mbps to my standard 150Mbps randomly from my bedroom. I even went into the wifi card settings and forced it to both 2.4 and 5 ghz but it would randomly drop its signal. In dual mode sometimes the wifi just drops and would take a minute or two to reconnect. If I go downstairs closer to one of my wifi satellites it's more stable but that's not acceptable. My macbook pro is right next to this laptop and constantly stays at 5ghz and 150Mbps.
I ended up buying the $15 Intel Wireless-Ac 9260 wifi card posted earlier off Amazon and hopefully that will fix the wifi issues. If it's the antenna and I still have problems sadly it will go back.

that's for the desktop cpu. the answer for that was a couple of frames per seconds between 2166 and 2666.
