For me, the comfort light pro makes this a much better device than the Kindle Paperwhite. Very happy with my purchase. Of course, you won't have access to the Kindle store and it's vast selection so keep that in mind. Great alternative though if you're trying to avoid Amazon.
Integration with Pocket makes this better IMO
Not slight, considerable difference
Aura - 1024 x 768 resolution (212ppi)
Clara HD - 1072 x 1448 resolution (300ppi)

Skip the corporate middleman and get one straight from China where they're all made anyway:

I am totally with you on avoiding Amazon. So tired of their push to integrate the reader into their platform. This is a great alternative that gives you much better freedom on how you want to use or customize your device. You can't even use book covers when the device is turned off or select your desired wallpaper on Kindle. And now they disabled the user ability to install custom rom to read epub format. I wish I bought this instead of my Kindle paperwhite.

Prefer 8" for for Readers.

I don't know why 6" became so popular -- I think it was just because Amazon was CHEAP AF, and didn't want to spend more on the Kindle. And then everyone copied the size. But its pretty terrible for reading, as you're constantly flipping pages or burning your eyes out with tiny letters on backlights.

I'm not criticizing this product, just saying, if you can find an 8" reader, and you like medium sized fonts or so, its much more comfortable for reading based on reading on regular tablets. Even my 7" Oasis isn't great for reading because of its weird shape. 9" starts getting too big, and 10" just forget it.

Honestly, unless you read in sunlight, probably your Phone on night mode is better than most 6" readers, at that tiny size. In the sun, these things really do well.

Do you have any recommendations for a 8" reader?
