Call 1-866-217-4736 from a registered phone and limit Citi selling your information to third parties!
This applies to all Citi cards including cards like Costco issued by Citi.
Remember to ask for a written confirmation in the automated system at the end.
If you don't understand why this is important read the NYT article or below:

There are massive data aggregation companies like Factual and Roam. They pay money to apps to give people your location history and build your profile.
They then buy information from financial institutions to tie it to the places you visited
Then they buy information and match up financial transaction time stamps to anonymized store purchase data (from like free rewards cards) to figure out what you bought.
They also then collect public information about you on age, and other demographics
Then they sell all of this as a package to anyone who will pay for it.
update: for those of you who asked about Chase, you must call: 1-888-868-8618. It requires more information than the Citi system when asked if you are a resident of CA, just say yes and limit additional sharing!

Speaking of which, you can now get a dump of all the data they have on you. You can even ask them to delete your file. Thanks California!
How to get the data and get it deleted. TIA
Yep. I saw software this week that had capability of tracking people near a gym (any gym) and how that info is being sold to competition/businesses. That info included everything about the people in that area (names, days you went to that gym, emails, phone number, gps tracking, DOB, etc.). Scary stuff. This software can be used for any purpose too. The gym was just an example of what it could do. Sad thing, the software is fully legal too.
Facebook and Google are the worst - they make billions selling everything about you to marketing companies and govt databases.
Do yourself a favor. Order a NCF (National Credit File) report on yourself - it's FREE. Report is 60 plus pages. You will have it in 3-4 days.

It's shows what info is out there about you (marketing records, education records, work records, email addresses, phone numbers, criminal, court records, driving record, credit records, CLUE - insurance records, family, etc) and how the companies use that info to offer you insurance, credit, etc.
I stumbled upon this when the car insurance company stated I had a claim (I never have) on my record. So I had to fight them. Only way was to get a free NCF on myself and dispute it from there. They have to remove it. Luckily, I had someone tell me about this site.
In return we get "good" deals matched up to what we normally buy.
It's only a bad thing when crooks use it to do bad things with it. That's why we need contact our political leaders to create laws to protect consumers.
