Call 1-866-217-4736 from a registered phone and limit Citi selling your information to third parties!

This applies to all Citi cards including cards like Costco issued by Citi.

Remember to ask for a written confirmation in the automated system at the end.

There are massive data aggregation companies like Factual and Roam. They pay money to apps to give people your location history and build your profile.

They then buy information from financial institutions to tie it to the places you visited

Then they buy information and match up financial transaction time stamps to anonymized store purchase data (from like free rewards cards) to figure out what you bought.

They also then collect public information about you on age, and other demographics

Then they sell all of this as a package to anyone who will pay for it.

update: for those of you who asked about Chase, you must call: 1-888-868-8618. It requires more information than the Citi system when asked if you are a resident of CA, just say yes and limit additional sharing!

Correct you can make a choice and let then send you internal offers. Third party sharing is just extra money for them

It's shows what info is out there about you (marketing records, education records, work records, email addresses, phone numbers, criminal, court records, driving record, credit records, CLUE - insurance records, family, etc) and how the companies use that info to offer you insurance, credit, etc.

I stumbled upon this when the car insurance company stated I had a claim (I never have) on my record. So I had to fight them. Only way was to get a free NCF on myself and dispute it from there. They have to remove it. Luckily, I had someone tell me about this site.

Just send them an email asking them. Something like "I'd like a copy of the data you have on me." They'll let you know what they need. Make sure you ask for a copy first and then for them to delete. Since they can't send you what they don't have. Wink

They already have it. That's why you need to call from the number that's on your account otherwise it doesn't work.

I've been opted out of Lexis Nexis for years, so I guess there's no report for them to send me right?

For people that value privacy, they should opt out of all the data brokers they can. Some make it easy. Others not so much. Others you have to nag them endlessly until they do it just so you stop nagging them. I had to nag one for 2 years before they finally removed me from their database. Hopefully California has made that much easier. Thanks California!

Yeah sure. Why would they ever in a million years do something that they would profit from, spend billions of dollars in data aggregating infrastructure to accomplish and had been demonstrated that they absolutely do? But stick with the "tinfoil hat" security blanket borefest. Basic logic and common sense are going to be far too inconvenient.

I would still request the report from them every 12 months to make sure there is no info on you. They will let you know on the request if there is no info on you.

This is not new. They send privacy letters every year which allow opt out. I called he number and after attempting to opt out for each option it said I was already opted out.
