Apparently, you get 1500 peak amps for 2 seconds... "I purchased the GooLoo 1500 a peak current product knowing I needed to use it on a Chevy 305 V8 with a weak battery. The unit gave me 2 seconds of starting current. The car did not start. I let everything settle down for 30 minutes and then tried again. The unit did not provide enough power to even engage the starter. I have to call a tow truck so now I am out the cost of the unit." - from critical reviews

Also, jumped my buddy's 1978 Zephyr with the 302 many times (the same day) and his isn't exactly a smooth running engine. So YMMV.
Running out of starter fluid was way more of a problem than running out of battery pack juice, we used the pack at least 5x within an hour.
A modern car should be a cinch.

Wait so I can test it by starting the car without a battery? I was worried it might damage the unit. I have a 500a gooloo and wanted to test it on a tacoma
So if you buy two of these, does that double the chance of starting a car? Lol ridiculous question, but I really want to know 😅

Basically on any of these devices, hook everything up and look for a green light. If it's red then recheck all your connections for something stupid and if everything is fine... Hit the override button and proceed to jump the car normally.
But yes, they obviously work better as boosters to provide additional charge when your in-car battery loses a cell or otherwise can't provide quite enough power.
As for the brand, Gooloo is actually a "name-brand" for this type of device if you can believe it. Noco (Genius) is also pretty well known.
On a more serious note, you don't need 2 unless you have 2 vehicles but DO remember to recharge them a few times a year. I charge mine 3-4x per year if they are unused for that interval. They're amazing but they aren't miracle devices.... they're just batteries and they won't do a damn thing if they don't have a charge in them still.

Some of these "jump starters" won't activate unless they detect an existing vehicle Voltage though (and no "bypass button" on many). Good for safety to protect the average idiot user, but annoying when you have at least reasonable knowledge about electricity, and get one of those types of units.
The only time I've had one of these types of jump starters fail to start a vehicle is when the battery is completely dead. As in takes zero charge; less 12.6V-to-drained capacity in the lead acid battery than an AAA alkaline battery. That was only because the lead acid battery would plummet. after being on a maintenance charger. to 0V immediately on crank, triggering the jump starter's protection.
The jump starters with USB-C and power-delivery support are the best imo - far more useful to charge various devices, more likely to be charged up when you need it, and more likely to be in your possession due to that usefulness.
ALWAYS test the jump starter models that you get for self-drain, and return if they do drain. I've had units that when "powered off" will full-drain themselves within a couple months. The better units will have a full charge months later. These aren't very useful if they're always dead when you go to use them.
