Seems better to get a non pillowtop so you can flip it every 6 months. And just buy a good separate latex topper. That can be replaced much cheaper. Easier to try out different thickness toppers to see what you like and send back.
Do they still make flippable mattresses?
Is this similar? I know it's $75 more, but it seems in the ballpark:

I have a twin and queen from the 1990s in my house. They're still very comfortable. And flippable. I half wonder if the new method is just a gimmick to get people to throw away their money on a new mattress every 10 or less years.
We bought the similar version of this mattress from Sam's in 2014. King size. For the last year it's been totally uncomfortable and it pulled you into the center. Went to Sam's and they told us to bring it back. I got the 399 memory foam on black Friday with the refund credit. Hopefully this one lasts longer. I guess that's another way to have a long lasting mattress. It seems more wasteful. I'd rather have a simpler, flippable mattress that doesn't fail in 5 years.

After sleeping on it for a week its definitely firm but very comfortable for me, I find the concrete comment a bit ridiculous.
One thing no one is mentioning is that the bed sleeps super cool, which coming from memory foam is a major upgrade for me. So far it's been worth every penny.
