Sock liners are actually a thinner sock you wear as a base layer underneath your main socks. If you experience blisters regularly on hikes, then sock liners will change your life. I never hike without them.

I wore a pair of these nearly every day for 18 months until I wore the soles smooth, and that was the only thing that went wrong with them. Perfectly reliable, good arch support, and the most comfortable running shoes I've owned. I ordered a replacement (and a spare pair) at full price a few months back, but at this price I'm still grabbing a set.

These are not the gortex version. They are meant to be ventilated and not waterproof whatsoever

I bought a similar pair of Solomon trail running shoes so long ago I can't even remember. They just broke down recently and I've been holding off buying a pair until they were on sale. Didn't realize they would go this low! Thanks OP.

I bough two pairs a couple of days ago. If you buy two you also get a $20 gift card. They have a new model out that's why they are on sale. With the gift card the two comes out to $110 pretax. They are originally $130 a pair.

All the amazon reviews speak of how poor quality this shoe is and of blisters. Anyone have this exact pair?

I have had a pair for about 6mo and wear them about 3 days/wk. They are comfortable for me, no blisters, and is holding up well. Tongue does slide to the side a bit. All in all I am in for a second pair

Never mind then. If I have to wear a presock on my socks the shoes cant be that breathable or even worth it. Reviews on amazon state construction quality concerns.

These were advertised as being waterproof but in fact are not. I don't recommend them and won't be replacing my pair.

Only for hiking, not for everyday use. With backpacking it's a necessity with any shoes imo
