I would say it would, as every movement in the screen becomes significantly smoother but people often prioritize resolution or color accuracy over refresh rate for productivity work. And getting all refresh rate+color+resolution gets really expensive or even impossible.
TN is good for higher response times when gaming, but with a cost of lower picture quality.
VA for higher contrast and higher color quality than TN, but with the cost of slight trailing in high FPS games aka ghosting. (But some monitors have a overboost option to avoid this)
IPS for the highest color/picture quality, with the cost of contrast.
You could tweak some options on a VA panel to get something similar to a IPS, but of course it won't be the same. If you could afford it, IPS would be the best choice. Expect to pay $30-50+ for IPS. I'd say VA is good enough, and great for a starting gaming monitor.

I hate the trend of companies slapping "gaming" on their products to make them seem more fancy.
My current monitor has a 60hz refresh rate. Would I need a 144 or would a 75 be enough to actually notice a change. Kind of hesitant to upgrade if theres going to be a minimal change
This is my current for the past 4-5 years

My comp is average gaming id say so Im not looking for bleeding edge kind of stuff, just 1080p. Appreciate any feedback, havent done much research on monitors and watching videos doesnt really get it across
