Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

I just went through with best buy $25 a month Kickstarter plan and rep sent me my account info in chat. I have registered for $300 x 3 Visa cards
I also did the same. I realized that the account # for promo registration was in one of the e-mails Sprint sent when the new Sprint account was created through Best Buy.

Looking at the FAQs on the promo site it seems like going through Best Buy may not qualify. It doesn't explicitly list a restriction of not being eligible if signing up with Best Buy, but it's subtle enough that they could deny it based on it:

FAQ quote:
"I received a message that my reward was not purchased from a qualifying location.

Please review the rules of the promotion and confirm that the card was purchased at a qualifying location. If you purchased a qualifying card at a participating location, please contact us and we'll help resolve the issue."

Hard to say what this statement applies to given the mention of a "card", though. Maybe it was geared to a previous promo.

On a related note, If it does qualify, I wonder if getting a discounted (or free like the Moto E6) phone through Best Buy would disqualify. (The terms say the phone purchase must be purchased at the SRP)

So far I have registered one BYOD port-in and 1 Moto E6 port-in through BB. Plan to do a final BYOD port in the next day, also through the $25 BB Kickstart.

There is a long term difference between no credit and credit accounts for some, if you need high quality vid. If you do credit account, you can also qualify for Sprint Works possibly through your employer. . .meaning on top of all other deals. . .Premium for the price of Plus, i.e $10 per line discount for Premium.

So, on BYOD on a new credit account, you would get 5 lines basic for $100 for next 14 months. . .which also translates to 5 lines of plus for same $100 if doing BYOD. . .and with Sprint Works (employer discount) you would also get 5 lines of Premium for the same $100 for most of those 14 months (says takes up to 2 billing cycles for credits).

You will keep $10 per line BYOD discount as long as you don't finance a new phone later. ANd keep the Premium for the price of plus (if Sprint Works qualified) past the free 3,4,5 promo period regardless of financing a new phone after the promo period.

In my opinion, if you are staying Sprint long term, and with your requirements of service level, the credit account offers more benefits (assuming you get the Sprint Works discount).
awesome man thank you very much...i think i do qualify with ems...what happens after 14 months though?

Do you have to go down to best buy to get the $25/mnth kickstart or is there an online link? I only have two phones available so I would have to buy 3 more to do the 5 / $100 mnth deal. What is the cheapest/easiest portout, mine are just coming off the sprint free year of service deal from last year. Is there a reasonably cheap new phone at best buy that would work with this deal? These extra 3 phones would probably not be used, just wait for the $300 cards to come and cancel the service.

Yes, most of the problems with, for example Visible deal on unlocked Moto e6 were on MVNO's not Sprint proper, as they couldn't change apn auto settings away from Sprint proper settings.

$80/$60/$40/$40/$40 for Premium. . .$260. Minus $50 BYOD. Minus $50 Sprint Works

$160 for you. . .

If you are a first responder, I might do this promo deal at first, then go back to TMO for their first responder deals long term. . .

For porting out I used 2 free Mint SIMs I had ordered through the Superbowl promo a while back. To get the Mint account number I called the Ultra mobile customer service line and there was an option for getting it.. gets sent as a text to the phone with the Mint SIM installed. I actually had planned to use Mint's free trial, but the signal at home and work was worse than Sprint, so that was a dealbreaker.

In the past I've used T-Mobile prepaid SIM cards to port in/out, usually $9.99 through Amazon, but now they require an additional $10 to port-in. There seems to be ~$1.99 T-Mobile (non-physical) ICCIDs for sale on eBay, so net cost would be ~$12 for a port out that way. There may be cheaper options I'm not aware of. I've done T-Mobile in the past because it's nearly instant port-out/port-in.

The $25 kickstart can be done online at Best Buy without BYOD by purchasing a phone. I did it at my local Best Buy store since I was using a family member for the new account creation and doing BYOD at first. Getting the $300 rebate while going through Best Buy's Kickstart is still YMMV. I plan to stay on Sprint until rates go up (according to T-Mobile they won't raise rates for 3 years post merger), so it was worth to register for the promo and see if it goes through.

For those doing this strictly as a MM, best would be to sign up directly with Sprint to ensure they don't deny the rebate based on signing up via a third party (Best Buy).

Like I mentioned on my earlier post, if going though Best Buy qualifies for the $300, the safest route may be BYOD given the terms mention purchasing the phone at the SRP (suggested retail price?). If it ends up qualifying with any phone purchase regardless, the Moto E6 is the option to pick, currently free at Best Buy (says $49.99 through Sprint, then shows free in checkout)

In short, to make sure the purchase is qualified, go with Sprint directly for the $35 kickstart. I wanted to lock down the lower service price through BB and Sprint happened to have the promo registering link available, so I went with it to see if it sticks, but YMMV Smilie

is Tello number qualified?
Im curious myself & not 💯 clear if Tello is fully a related entity or not thus however it does state above...

Excl. 11+ Corporate-liable, prepaid & ports made between Sprint and related entities. Prepaid Card/Virtual.

They always use interesting lingo, I've been a customer for then for 10+ years and then switched to Tello. $10 mo. Zero BS...I'm good with that.

Let me know what you find out too!

Can you provide a link? I can not find a way to even get to the Kickstarter plan without first adding a phone.
I went to Best buy in person with phones and sim info and IMEI info on my phone. Shared with rep. Called mint mobile and got my account and pin info right there. Took an hour. Got it all done and switched

In the email which I received, I see activation fee $30. Does it clearly mean it is not waived? I purchased pixel 3xl with port-in online. Thank you.

Repped for sharing this. I think many people were skeptical.

Everyone, don't forget to do Plus instead of basic unlimited. It's the same price with BYOD.
Each line would also say "Save $10 on Plus or Premium" as well.
Upgrades your streaming to 1080p, upgraded gaming and music speeds, as well as Tidal Premium music service, and probably puts you higher up on the totem pole deprioritization wise.

Nycdpi. . .you can most likely still do that upgrade.
Thank you.

Needgeech, all, did anyone have issue creating a new "no credit check" account either while having a current active credit check acct or a past, cancelled credit check acct? Any issue with using the same email address? This would be very useful info if anyone can confirm it. Thank you.
