Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.
I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Yes, you can, but unlike other carriers, you cannot just swap the SIM. You need to go into dashboard in your Sprint account online and re-assign the SIM to another phone. It is a straightforward, instant, self-service process. My bad. It can't be reassigned, while active.
If it gets locked, Sprint will sort it out for you, although sometimes the process can be time-consuming.
EDIT: If you're asking how to activate Sprint without having a phone, you just wait after your order is submitted and you'll get an email "Sign in to sprint.com" about setting up mysprint. You have to go thru that link to complete account setup.
i was hasty and went to create account using forget pwd option.. he he.. now cant login to account

Early in the game, I sent a message to Sprint, asking about the Walgreens offer. Never heard from them.
Until today, after opening my five lines, with the anticipation of the $300 rebate.
The message received says I'm enrolled in Walgreens Rewards, and will receive a $200 rebate card in 10-12 weeks.
Hmm … what should I do? $200 v. $1500 is a pretty big deal.
I guess I've been lucky that it has been rare for me and my Sprint friends. I will expand my data set to include your experience.
I see those phones were all initially sourced from Sprint. My crowd has always used non-carrier phones, which perhaps accounts for divergence in our experience.
