I wonder if they still have housekeeping cleaning the rooms... One would think so, but are the hotel employees wearing PPE?
I would hope they have proper PPE and disinfectants. This is really nice of them to do this for the health care workers and first responders though. Many of them are already staying in hotels away from home so they don't infect their loved ones, so this should help a lot of people.
I also see a lot of restaurants store rags in the disinfecting solution but the a microfiber rags commonly absorb up to 50% of the disinfecting agents (quats) and cotton rags absorb up to 80% so if the restaurant isn't testing the solution after rags have sat in it, it might not be disinfecting anymore.

The sani water usually lasts 2 hours. They have strips to test the sani water if it's still serviceable. The chances of most restaurants doing this is slim however considering the labor crunch so many restaurants are/were under.

Also at least at my hotels they are leaving room as is until at least a week later. So in theory it greatly reduces the likelihood that the virus is present in the room.
But for the actual housekeeping person being sick they do check with them daily and given the new requirements and our policy is if a doctor says you should stay home (regardless of why) you get paid sick leave. So in one case the person had a cold but the doc (and really the hotel too) opted to let them stay home (and get paid). Logic being we can't afford to have anyone to be sick regardless what they have.
I know some people running some small hotels and motels. They can't get their hands on enough PPE like face masks or gloves because most places are sold out. It's been a challenge for them to keep their employees safe.
What I need is a small suv rental in Orlando for a month or two. That would get me into a hospital.
