I am pretty sure I saw their commercials for "Five Dollar Foot Longs". So a dollar more and requiring a coupon is a "deal"?
Those commercials are 12 years old, when the Subway made it a nationwide promotion in March 2008. Other than a brief period in 2018 when the price returned, it has been years since Subway's footlong sandwiches are $5 each.
That marketing campaign apparently worked very well, as many people still recall it. A lot of these franchisees weren't happy with it though - especially when it returned in 2018.
Thanks for the info. My fast food expense is maybe two MD fries ($4?) four to six times a year, plus maybe $10 at Taco Bell. My fast food past is horrific, but I hope the last decade has absolved me.
