Around 8/10/20, forum members started reporting that some reps in Reward Center refused to submit the GC requests before 60 days of service. By 8/20/20, more and more reps are doing the same thing, even those who previously submitted requests between 35-45 days. AT&T is blatantly not honoring the "45 days" term, still stated on AT&T web site as of 8/20/20.
Info on requesting the $250 GCs - added 8/8/20 by hpham_53
Although the Terms of the deal say you'll receive an email around 45 days after activation to claim the GCs, so far nobody in this thread reported getting such email, no matter how long they waited.
To request your GCs:
* About 35-40 days after activation, go to https://rewardcenter.at
* If you get a rep that refuses to submit the GCs before 60 days, end the Chat and try again with another rep. Other reps will submit the GCs if account was active for 35 days or more. You can email the Chat transcript to yourself by clicking on the "envelope" icon on the Chat box.
* About 2-3 days after the rep submitted your GC requests, log into the Reward Center site above using your phone number and zip code. Your reward should be available for claiming. Repeat for each phone number.
* Log in again 1-2 days after claiming your GCs, it'll show whether or not they were approved and the estimated mailing date. So far, most people actually received the GCs in the mail on that date.
Deal seems dead. $250 no longer shows up on cart as of 5/7/20. Speak to Ecomm for confirmation first before placing an order.
Deal has been extended. New terms now say --
"Limit two Reward Cards per account."
However CSR said that I will get one card for each added line. I would think terms would be more accurate.
Hard pull for opening account as a new customer.
Must port in
To make this offer work, I believe you must have an unique phone/IMEI for each line, must insert SIM to phone so AT&T can recognize your BYOD phone IMEI.
may stack with CB and sweeten deal
Check number transfer eligibility: https://www.att.com/wireless/tran...ur-number/
Check wireless order status: 1-877-782-8870 or https://www.att.com/checkmyorder
Order stages:
We're working on your order - validating order in AT&Ts backend
In progress - believe at this point credit check has been done, ports may still be held up if shown as pending
(Partially) Shipped - self explanatory
Some have gotten cancelled orders due to AT&T not being able to verify information, especially for new customer accounts, even up to ~27 hours later. It may just be an AT&T issue of something not matching / some internal fraud algorithm kicking in.
After order submitted, call the ECOMM (e-commerce) backdoor number 866-267-4510 to confirm order with them personally to push order to go through verification on backend stage, then ask to transfer to credit department to double check you will pass verification manually, then check port status at att.com/port to see if you need to make corrections, if you are see that port is expect to complete, you are good to go.
NOTICE: ATT will not process and ship your order until they receive confirmation from old carrier to release your numbers to ATT.
ATT will eventually cancel your order if no action is taken to correct mistakes
Check AT&T porting status: https://www.att.com/port/ or 1-866-895-1097
If a line was submitted with incorrect porting information, (e.g. wrong PIN for me) it can be changed online at the porting status check above.
Porting Support: 1-888-898-7685 same function as the 1097 number
Check Reward status after submission with reward center: 1-800-675-8459
Possible workaround to open a new AT&T account if online order still fails if you follow every suggestions
Note: There may be a certain amount of time that a new AT&T account has to be open before you can make modifications (i.e. adding a new line) without issues. If someone confirms otherwise, delete this note from wiki.
second method don't seems to work, ppl said that their online order got cancelled despite opening first line in store.
1)
After you see that at least one of your online lines are added/pending on your account, cancel the line that is opened in store, no activation fee or full refund on activation fee if cancelled within 3 days of activation. The cost for first month's service will be prorated according to service days used. Usually no service fee if cancelled within 3 days of activation, AT&T has 14 days return policy, so I believe you are golden if canceling the in store line before 14 days of activation, either paying no fees or prorated fees. BTW, you can try to get ALL fees waived for this cancelled line by calling AT&T customer care. (YMMV?) Worst case would be you will pay $30 in store activation fee + prorated service charges by service days used for the AT&T in store line.
Phone hold times are long currently due to COVID-19 -- make sure the order details are accurate to avoid having to talk to a human.
Employee/University/student discounts (if offered), especially if staying with AT&T. Check eligibility with corporate e-mail here:
https://www.att.com/shop/wireless...coun
I recommend that do not upgrade your phone to take the device promo offer (if desired) until you actually receive the reward card. This $250 is a BYOD promo
Rebate Process URL: https://rewardcenter.at
-If your number was previously on AT&T, they will not send you a rebate afterwards. Got the runaround when talked to several CSR. Has to be a number that has NEVER been on AT&T before. This is blatantly false info. Don't know why it is even allowed in the wiki
3/8/2021 - Per telephone call to e-commerce number 866-267-4510, a former AT&T landline number is eligible for the offer. Update: Can now confirm that a former AT&T landline - first ported to Metro-by-T-Mobile five months ago - and subsequently ported to AT&T for this deal - was eligible for and received the $250 VISA reward.

ONLINE ORDERS ALWAYS CANCELLED AS WELL AS 3rd party like BestBuy - I am sure I am FLAGGED.
WARNING: VERY LONG, WITH SO MANY LIES AND DECEPTION AND TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES
FOR YEARS, I have never been able to get AT&T services online. My orders get cancelled within 24 hours. My only option is to go into the store.
I. WANT. THIS. FIXED.
MY RECENT EXPERIENCE:
SAME GENERIC EMAIL EVERY GOD (Edited per community guidelines) TIME:
Number not displayed
Status: CANCELED
We couldn't verify this order 23-79931**** really came from you. For your security, we canceled it. Don't worry. If there was a hold on your card, we'll release the funds. Let us help you reorder your item(s). Visit an AT&T store. Be sure to bring your identification.
So what I DID differently this time, is I WENT TO THE STORE and SET UP A POST PAID LINE WITH MY ID.
I then WAITED the required 72 hours to make sure that when I submit an order online, to add lines, the text verification will actually GO THROUGH (If you attempt to do it immediately after setting up service, the VERIFICATION CODE NEVER WORKS)
The verification went through and I got two separate orders in, one for 1 more line, and another order for 3 more lines. (Some (Edited per community guidelines) reason 4 lines wouldn't work and I'd get an UH OH message with DIRECT TV NUMBER to call for support?!?)
Within 24 hours, SAME CANCELLATION EMAIL FOR BOTH ORDERS. CLEARLY I AM IDENTIFIED since I SET UP SERVICE IN THE STORE ALREADY.
I've talked to EVERY God (Edited per community guidelines) DEPARTMENT AND HOW IS IT that NO ONE CAN HELP ME AND FIX IT?
E-Comm - Tells me orders are fine, Order still gets cancelled.
Credit Department/Analyst Review - I can't speak with these guys directly so I get a rep to help me out. They tell me my account is fine and the Credit Check is fine (They are looking at the number I ALREADY set up just fine in the store). The reps tell me they don't have a way of looking up PAST CANCELLED ORDERS.
Global Fraud Team - Call 8778445584 and these reps repeatedly tell me that this number is for EXPERIENCING FRAUD, or SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY on an existing account. Refusing to help me.
In between these calls over the course of about a week, I had an AT&T Escalations Help Desk rep call me back and leave the SHORTEST god (Edited per community guidelines) message: "Hi, this is AT&T Escalations Help Desk calling to let you know that you do HAVE to go into the store to complete your order. The Escalation team will NOT be able to assist"
Lastly, I called AT&T Retail store today where I signed up for service explaining my situation. I told the manager there that we NEED to get in touch with the fraud department or something to remove any FLAGS from my account or at least do SOMETHING where I can place orders online. He agreed to talk to the Credit department but suggested I call AT&T Loyalty Department directly.
AT&T Loyalty Team - This guy looked at my cancelled orders, put me on hold. Advised me that he was absolutely positive he knows why my orders are getting cancelled. Apparently AT&T System doesn't show an EMAIL on file, so when I make an order online to add lines, I'm supposed to receive an email where I accept terms and conditions, and without accepting these terms, my orders will cancel automatically.
....
I know he has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what hes talking about because I'm only ordering SIM CARDS for BYOD. These Terms and conditions emails probably come later if AT ALL. As extra measure, I pleaded with him to call the Credit team/Analyst team and speak with them directly AGAIN. HE essentially refused and said they can't help me so we'd be wasting time. 100% confidence.
The reason I know he's full of crap is because I received the same CANCELLATION Email for my initial ORDER a week ago for STARTING SERVICE, as well as attempting to add lines to EXISTING SERVICE. And if what he was saying is true, then NO ONE STARTING NEW service with AT&T would be able to do so online because they wouldn't have emails on file either.
But alas, I had no choice but to see if this works as it is an avenue I hadn't exhausted yet. So we added my email to the account, confirmed it via verification email. Then he sent me on my merry way.
About 15 minutes later, not comfortable with this reps decision, I called Loyalty department back and got a different rep. This rep much more helpful and willing to do what I ask. We went back and forth with the Credit Analyst team, and that's where I learned that previous orders cant be looked up, etc. So this amounted to a dead end.
With phone calls being done for the day, I decided to roll the dice.
Placed two separate orders on the AT&T site after logging in. 2 Lines, then 2 more lines.
Both orders went through. We are now 7 hours into it, and the orders still say "PENDING PORT APPROVAL" on my account order screen, and the infamous:
"We're working on your order." on the individual order page.
I guarantee you these orders will be cancelled in the morning.
Now, with all the headache and bull(Edited per community guidelines) that I've gone through, one might think that AT&T is in some sort of FCC violation for refusing service to me and not giving me an explanation to why because none of the reps know HOW TO TELL ME WHY.
I guarantee a copy of this post is going straight to the FCC as a formal complaint, the BBB, AT&T EXECUTIVE Department via god (Edited per community guidelines) SNAIL mail, and I will send a copy to AT&T Executives such as
Primary Contact
Rachael (Edited as per community guidelines)
Premium (Customer) Care – TV & Internet
(Edited as per community guidelines)
Randy Shackelford, Premium (Customer) Care – Mobility, *
Chief Executive
Thaddeus (Edited as per community guidelines)
CEO – AT&T Communications
(Edited as per community guidelines)
I am 100000000000% certain that some internal system is blocking me for WHATEVER reason and I've had various AT&T reps via reddit tell me that theres a flag on SSN for fraud. Perhaps if its not my SSN its the ADDRESS here.
I honestly don't expect help on this forums seeing as how I hardly see things get solved. But I will post here, and other forums, until this (Edited per community guidelines) gets resolved.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST:
PLEASE Dont tell me to go sign up for the rest of the lines in the store; I'm doing this for the $250 Reward Card per new line via online. And its only ONLINE. Even if there wasn't a promotion though, telling me to go to the store ISN'T a fix.
Hey congratulations you made it to the end of this post. Thanks for reading and sorry for boring you to death.
As of right now, I hate AT&T so much and with practices like this, it's amazing how AT&T is still more successful than Sprint, a far inferior company.

I have the Email addresses edited out i dont want them spammed. If you need to you can google the contacts.
Just thought I'd share the most ridiculous experience with you guys.
Man it sucks you can't copy paste already done formatting.
**EDIT**
I forgot to mention one thing... The BEST part of the AT&T community forums is when you tell them stuff like this, they reply with: "You should go to the store then if online ordering isnt working" -_-a

2. Porting process starts same day order is approved. If no problems with porting, SIMs shipped later in the same day. If problems with porting, order is on hold until porting problems resolved by you (go online to Port Status site, correct any wrong/missing info).
3. SIMs are shipped overnight by UPS.
4. Actual porting/cancellation of service with your current carrier doesn't take place until you've received the SIMs and go online to activate the SIMs.

They gave me this number: 877-844-5584, "Global management"
Also, here's a number for escalations: 866-244-8214

Just got another call back from the Office of the President:
"What we can do is give you a $250 credit for each line. And you can do up to 10 lines"...
FML only good for service credit and if i leave Att the credit disappears. Thats like essentially 1 year of free Att... and thats it. No money in my pocket.
Of course this isnt a solution for me so he's going to look into something else.
