I chatted with a rep on AT&T Reward Center site on 6/16 (40th days from activation), she approved the claims for 4 x $250 GCs. They showed up on 6/18 and I claimed them. Got approved on 6/19, to be mailed by 6/28. Some people chatted on their 35th day and were told approved but don't see them for claiming yet. So you can contact before 45 days but not too early.
What is the best use of these visa/MC gift cards?

I used the Sprint MC gift cards to buy a money order at my local Dillons (Krogers), 88 cents fee for up to $1000 m.o. Then I deposited the m.o. at my local bank. I plan to do the same with the AT&T cards.

This Visas can be added to Apple Cash/Pay, Samsung Pay or Google Pay and then transfer the funds yo your bank. I just funded my apple cash with two ATT visas and withdrew funds to my bank. If you want the transfer to be instant there is a 1% fee. Otherwise, 2-3 days transfer is free

Once you've claimed the GCs on AT&T Reward site and got them approved (usually the next day), I think it's safe to upgrade. Don't upgrade before that.

I called ATT reward center after 47 days and reward got approved today. It shows online it will be
mailed at estimated 07/02/2020. Seems that I have to pay one more month bill since ATT doesn't support prorated any more.

leo15 posted in post #1564 that his estimated mailing date for his GCs were 6/21 but he actually received them on 6/20. My estimated mailing date is 6/28. I'll see which date I'll actually receive them. My 3rd billing period starts on July 6. Hopefully I will be able to port-out and cancel before that.

Today I got a surprised from T-mo. After getting their GCs, I cancelled my T-mo account on 6/1, about two weeks before the end of the billing period. Got a printed bill today showing a credit of $23.41 which it says will be sent via a debit card.

Thanks. I have never bought money orders. Does Walmart charge the same for money order?
I dont have a Krogers nearby.

Fee for MO is the same 88 cents at my local Walmart and Dillons stores. Some people reported that Walmart is pickier about the types of card you can use to buy MO. Some clerks will flatly refuse any kinds of prepaid cards. At Walmart, I've only used bank debit cards to buy MO, so no personal experience with using prepaid cards there. At Dillons, I've used bank debit cards and Sprint MC prepaid cards to buy MO without problems.

I chatted rewardcenter as per discussion here. The rep was only able to procees 3 cards. She said my other line was a 'winback' number, didnt qualify for the promo.

WTH, I ported my line from Sprint. We were with sprint for 2 years.

Called regular number, he checked and came out with same note, the number was attached to my login. Yes, we were with ATT prior to sprint, that was over 2 years ago, and it's still considered as winback number 🤦🏻 ♀️.

Any suggestion to winback my $250?
Happened to me too... Chat with reward agent and was told 4th line listed as "winback" so unable to process reward. She said to called wireless department to get it fixed. I called and they were able to change the line to "port-in".

Called reward center back and was told the BYOD code was not on the Acct, she suggested 3 ways call with wireless department and the wireless dept agent verified that lines was port in and it is BYOD. The reward agent then process the reward claim.

Are you sure you want to put up with the headaches that this deal can bring?
1. Assuming your order won't be cancelled randomly by AT&T, you'll receive the SIMs about 3-4 days after ordering.
2. During the ordering process, you'll provide the phone numbers to be ported in. AT&T will process the port requests and only ship the SIMs if the porting requests were successful. The SIMs will be shipped with the phone numbers pre-assigned to them.
3. When you receive the SIMs and activate them, that's when service with your old carrier will actually be switched to AT&T.
4. AT&T Billing is a mess. The billing period starts when you activate the SIMs, but your first bill could be available a few days later or a month later (billed for 2 months). Taxes & fees are about 25% to 30% of the quoted cost of the service plan.
Quote from hpham_53 :
The stated "$35/month per line per month" for Unlimited Starter is a misleading come-on. It'll be at that price if you have 4 lines for a total of $140/month plus taxes and fees. Like most carriers, AT&T charges more for the first 2 lines ($120) and each line beyond the first 2 lines costs less.
Is the headache worse than Sprint deal or not worth it? I'm expecting Sprint GCs before the end of the month and looking where to port out before next billing cycle

The headaches come in a different way compared to Sprint. With Sprint, the headaches come mostly when trying to collect the rewards ($50 referrals and $300 BYODs). With AT&T, the headaches come before dealing with the rewards.

With my 1st account, I had to contact AT&T for these reasons:
1. Called AT&T E-Comm to find out why my 1st order was cancelled with the reason "We can't confirm that this order was placed by you, so we cancelled it". E-comm blamed it on the Order Review Dept.
2. Placed order again, then called E-comm to verify my name, billing address, etc.and confirmed that the $250 BYOD offer was attached to the order.
3. After lines were activated, had to call Billing Dept because the 4 lines were split into two plans instead of one plan, which raised the cost by $60.

With my 2nd account, I had to call for reason 2, plus a few calls to Billing to see why my lines have been in service for almost a month (since 5/27) and still no first bill yet. They kept saying "Just wait for it".

The positive points are that it was easy to use Chat to get the $250 rewards, no hassle from the rep, and looks like I can get the GCs and cancel the lines after paying for 2 months of service.

Yes, that's the plan if i do actually get the Sprint GCs before the end of the month. Port to ATT, pay 2 months service collect GCs and move to the next deal. Are ppl waiting to collect from CB sites before cancelling? What is the payout estimate for TCB / BF?
