Usually once the order status has gone to "In Progress" it doesn't get cancelled.
i ordered 2 lines. 50-day old account. went to "In Progress". order canceled after ~24 hours.
ordered again couple of days later. called e-comm, they verified. went to "In Progress". canceled again after ~24 hours.

both times "couldn't verify order came from you".

their "system" seems capricious.

* Acct #1: 4 lines, order placed 5/3 through BF, shows "$600. Verified. Est Payable 8/1/20". All lines ported out on 6/26. Account closed. I don't expect BF to pay.
* Acct #2: 2 lines, order placed 5/22 through TCB, shows "$100. Pending. Est 14 weeks". I submitted a claim saying the cb should be $300 (doubled the usual $75/line for 2 lines). They said it'll take 2-3 months for a decision. I'm waiting for the $250 GCs to be mailed (claimed on 7/6, approved 7/7). I'll port out by next Saturday. I don't expect TCB to pay.
Did you keep any TCB screenshots on offer? If yes, when did you purchase/port? Looking for a screen grab from mid May. Thanks.

Here's what the final bill for my acct #1 shows. That account's final service period was June 7 to July 6 and the monthly bill was $152.45. I paid it before the autopay date and ported out on June 26, about 10 days before the end of the service period. Now it's showing a credit of $38.01. I'm waiting to see if they'll mail a check like someone here was told, or they will issue a refund to my credit card.

I placed an order for 2 lines through TCB on 5/22 when they were running a Memorial Weekend Double Cash promo. The advertised rate was $150/line (doubled the usual $75/line). But they only showed $100 (presumably 2 x $50 which is the rate per line for iPhone). I submitted a claim, saying the cb should have been $300. A rep responded asking if they were iPhones, I replied "No, they're Androids". The rep said they would forward the claim to AT&T and it'd take 2-3 months for a decision. I don't want to keep paying to wait for that decision, so I ported out today. I don't trust those cb sites anymore.

Strange that the AT&T thread regarding the discount for some essential workers does not have any posts about order cancellations.

Maybe most of those users are not needing to place orders for new lines online? For example, just adding the discount to their existing account.

Use H2O SIMs, available for $1 each at Best Buy and other places. You don't need to load any airtime if you just want to leave the phone number there to die. I've done that for my 6 AT&T lines and 3 Sprint lines. Porting took place within 15 minutes of submission.

I used H2O SIMs to port out 6 AT&T lines. Completed within 15 minutes of submission.

OK, AT&T sims received today and two former Sprint numbers have been ported. Online account setup.

BTW, the porting and activation process AT&T has was seamless. I was impressed
to activate: Is it att.com/getstarted then choose 'sim card only? how about switching phones later, can we do that, will it affect the 250 promo?

I bought these H2O SIMs at Best Buy: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/h2o-...Id=6421026

To activate, go to H2O web site and follow the steps to activate. After you fill in the SIM number, the screen will refresh and shows you the plans. Select exactly as shown in the attachment and you won't have to buy any airtime.

You'll get an email confirmation of the port request, but you will not get an email confirming that it was successful. You need to check your AT&T account, the monthly cost and list of devices will change each time you remove a line.
