Today, HD is having a sale on the Makita miter saw, AND giving you an option for 2 additional batteries when purchasing. When purchasing on the website, you click on the battery you would like - in my browser the last one was 2x 5ah LXT batteries, and then add to cart. Might be of interest for anyone looking at this saw.

QA Note: OOS for Delivery, YMMV for Store Pickup

Looks like I didn't do due diligence and find that a similar ACME deal has been posted a couple days ago.

This, however, is the same price/deal at Home Depot, it's in stock (no long waits for shipping or possible in store pickout) and avoids the 20$ ACME Handling charge.

If I'm reading this correctly, this is a total of 4 batteries right? 2 bundled and 2 free item.

I just wish Makita had a AC adapter for this thing. It's a great price on a great saw but I just want corded.

There's 11 pages of discussion about this saw in the recent acmetools post that's totally not worth your time. The takeaway is this is a great wireless miter saw. Unless you think a cheaper saw and a cheap generator is a better deal (spoiler: it isn't)

Would love to buy this but don't need it often enough. Really wish Ridgid had not discontinued their cordless sliding miter.

Picked up once of these and will probably return the extra battery pack to drop the price down.

That is correct. The original kit has 2 batteries, and the deal adds 2 more

bought this saw a couple of years ago after seeing it on SD. I returned the extra 2 batteries and think I paid about $400 in the end. This saw is a beast and I love it. Worth every penny. Definitely suggest getting a rolling stand. I got a discounted open box Delta stand from Lowes for $75.

Will that work...and if so, what does that bring the price to?

For those interested in maybe doing a partial return, the price breaks down in the cart to $395 for the saw kit (saw, 2 batteries, charger) and $134 for the bonus 2-pack of batteries.

The 2x4ah batteries cost more ($190) than the 2x5ah ($180), but the system is not letting me get that for free for some reason.

I personally own this saw and I believe it's the best on the market. It goes through full charged batteries in about a week with medium usage which is excellent. Can cut through anything with ease. It's honestly one of my favorite tools.

I put it on a Hercules stand from harbor freight. It's a beast.
