FYI for those of you who have 130L SodaStream CO2 tanks, these are now discontinued. BB&B is running a promo where you can get 3 x 60L refills for 1 x 130L tank for $44.97 (+tax). Many BB&B have now partially re-opened for curbside pickup and if you turn up at the store door they will do exchanges. Offer ends 5/31.

Sodastream support [sodastream.com] says that the deal is 2 for 1 but for me it was 3 for 1.

I'm not sure if the regular BB&B 20% coupon applies but it's worth a shot.

And yes, SodaStream tanks are a ridiculously expensive way to get CO2 but other options have been pretty limited recently due to current circumstances.

Only for those with an empty 130L tank, right?

For regular size tanks, you can refill them with dry ice.
$2-4 for 3 tanks. You only need 4.2oz of dry ice per tank.
Should work for 130L tanks too, I believe they're constructed the same.

Just wanted to put it out there.
BTW, 20% coupons usually apply for refills, so I believe they would also apply for the exchange.

Thank you for this.
We just got a sodastream and I was wondering about the best way to refill the co2 tank.

Another way to save money over time is to buy a 20oz or 24oz paintball CO2 tank (~$20) and buy an adapter valve to fit SodaStream (~$10). Refills for those tanks can be got at places like Dick's Sporting Good and cost about $5. There are some caveats... paintball CO2 refills are harder to get right now, and neither the tanks nor the CO2 is certified for food use. That said, I have done this for many years and I'm still alive, and it sure beats risking frostbite from dry ice.

I believe you actually need over 14 oz of dry ice, not 4.2. The 60L tank I have says 14.5 oz (410g) CO2.
