10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

You don't need to call. Just login to your account and change your plan from there. It takes about 24 hrs to take effect.
In my account, it would show only my original pricing $100/80/70/60. I didn't try to see if changing back and forth from Gig-speed would reset the pricing.

On-line chat and sales dept call couldn't do anything (unless I add bundle service probably). I asked to be transfer to Customer Loyalty department and they were able to adjust down to the 69.99 regular price.

I'm grandfathered into 70/month price. Do you think by switching, will it go up after 12 months?

You're not under contract if you switch to their 1000 plan. It is their promise to not raise the price after for one year.

Because of that, you are allowed to quit anytime without penalty. Since you aren't under contract you are allowed to do whatever promo pricing is available when your 12 months ends.

I just had my fiber installed so far working good, just gotta configure passthrough. What I'm curious about is how did a third party AT&T reseller knew I was installing internet? They tried to get to sign there stupid contract and I told them to pound sand and chased them off my property.
Whoa .. this is weird. I also just had my fiber installed today (and loving it)

An hour or two later i get a knock on the door by two reps with yellow vests. I did not answer but I presume they might have been att sales people.

If you cancel you can't sign up for their services for 60 days they say

If you have two adults in your house.. just switch back and forth. Me and my wife do this every year typically, just swap names and start a new service with the newest promo.

WOW I did the online chat option and within about 10mins they were able to switch me from the Internet 100 plan to the Internet 1000 plan! I was paying $60 monthly for Internet 100 and am now getting this $50 Internet 1000 deal. No questions asked really so if you're an existing customer hit up chat! If the first rep won't give you the deal try again and connect with a different rep. Woohoo!
Were you able to get any gift cards added? I chatted and got the price to $49.99 with no equipment fee. When I asked about the gift cards he told me to call another number. When I called they said they weren't the ones to add it to my account but then said something about calling back in 30 days.

Not going to screw with what I already have to try to get the 1 gig. Right now I pay $50/month for 300mbps ATT Fiber with No data cap due to bundling (and being) grandfathered in to the old DirecTV Now which is $60/month for over 105 channels. Also have free HBO which was converted over to HBO Max complimentary due to having wireless service with them.

I don't pay any $10/month equipment fee for having Fiber internet with them (I use their supplied router). Been paying a flat $50/month for the 300mbps for over 3 years now. Not going to have them screw it up by offering me 1gig speed for the same price for only 1 year only to jack it up after the year has passed.

One day in, really enjoying the service however starting to feel the limitations of just using the att gateway. Might have to introduce my router back into the mix.

Basic features like Upnp are not supported. Back to the days of having to manually enter port forwarding rules. I have two xboxes in the house. Adding one was easy enough but when I try to create a similar rule for the second xbox, it does not let me. Google results online supposedly say I cant do this which seems insane.

Aside from that which are dealbreakers for me, the device seems to have a good enough range on its own. I was hoping to get by with it until i can get into wifi6 later this year.

I did not ask about the gift cards unfortunately so I dunno. I had already gotten a couple hundred worth when setting up my service a year ago so I assume they wouldn't have honored it.

Yeah that is a pretty solid deal you got there. I was able to upgrade from my $60/mth 100mbps plan to this $50/mth 1000 deal. No equipment fee added. Account says it's 12-month $20 "off" promo but there's also no early termination fee. So after 12 months it would go up to $70 a month.

I'm hoping to get the equipment fee waived somehow by next year.

Ditto Here. The rep initially said they can't do anything unless I add wireless. She said she can lower my speed to 300 Mbps to lower my bill to $70. Asked to transfer to retentions and after a few exchange retentions personnel was able to give me $70 pricing

LOL, not available at my address, but they'll give me "speeds up to" a whole 18 Mbps for $59.99 a month! ($49.99 a month plus a $10/mo. equipment fee, meaning double what they charged me 10 years ago, for the SAME speed.) That stunning deal comes with a bonus - a 1TB a month data cap. Bwahahaha!!!

I hate Spectrum because they're a terrible company with terrible customer service and terrible TV rates that go up all the time. But for a $5 a month more than AT&T's insulting, non-broadband package, I get a consistent 117 Mbps speeds with no cap. This is why I no longer use AT&T, and why AT&T continues to lose customers. Their speeds and rates are both insultingly bad. They gave up on fiber around here a while back, and now it seems they're giving up entirely. We have no other ISP options here, so Spectrum wins by default, and by virtue of AT&T being an even bigger and stinkier pile of crap.
