10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

Do you all use their gateway only? Is a router needed for 3500sqft house? I see their gateway model is ARRIS BGW210. If I want to connect one of my own routers to it, which port of the gateway should be used? Thanks in advance.

I use Google wifi router. JUst turned of the wifi on the at&t gateway.

It's ridiculous that they make you go through these hoops instead of treating existing customers well.
most people don't do that so they just make more money.

Is there any other hidden fees? setup? if I'm not a customer yet? Thx in advance.
Pretty sure the biggest hidden fee is the data cap!
Not sure if it applies to fiber but never know they always changing it. It's in the fineprint when I checked for my area Frown
"Incl 1TB data/mo. $10 chrg for each add'l 50GB (up to $100/mo)."

Cord cutters. VPN for work. Kids. We were 800gb/mo before quarantine every month.

HD video can use 50mb per minute and 4K video uses up to 200+mb per minute so I don't think that's really unreasonable if all your television is streaming. Esp with multiple TVs and users. Honestly I just would rather not have to worry about it.
Just installing a few games a month and you'll go over LOL. For example many complaints on twitter about last COD update at 66GB just for an update LOL

I just signed up w/ATT again. Switched to comcast last year (from att and DirecTV) and the internet is terrible.
Anyway, is the BGW210 the same router they give you nowadays? If not, what model are they using?
I also have two of the airties mesh extenders and they worked great,. Really hoping I can use them again.

To those of you waiting for the second gift card to mail, you may need to call to initiate it. They have noticed a problem with the coupon codes - such as SAVEMORE triggering the second gift card process. I waited 45 days prior to calling hoping for a notification, but didn't receive one. Just call ATT Reward Center customer service, they will process it for you and you will get it about a week after. No questions, easy!

I got this 1 Gbps service couple of months ago but never got 1 GBPS speed (I get max 400 at best on speedtest on my mobile)..when I reached out to technical support of AT&T they said you will never get 1 GBPs since you have multiple devices. what crap. I even asked the manager and he said the same thing. Can anyone even confirm if they really get 1 gbps speed on speedtest ?

I was earlier on 300 mbps plan before 1 gbps. That was fibre too so I am guessing the modem/router I got is compatible with 1 gbps.

ATT did 2 credit enquiries for me without my authorization and I spent more than 6 hours at different times to get them removed with no luck and 2 years and fell off my credit that's the only way it could be better when you work with ATT. I am really interested in this offer I am with Charter spectrum and my 12 months promotion is ending, I see 200 in gift card, anyone know if we can enroll without credit enquiry?

Dang how did you get it to switch to $39.99 + $10 finally?

$100 gift card+ $100 gift card

Install is coming Friday

been waiting . Currently paying 49.99/month for 80mpbs with xfinity

The trollest thing is the site is kinda tricky. sometimes it loads 39.99+10 equipment fee price
and sometimes it does 49.99+equipment, sometimes unlimited sometimes 1 tb.

check before.

I had to find the 39.99 and unlimited package then add to cart, then login

Hard wire. I get 1Gbps easy on my gaming desktop. You'll need WiFi 6 and a proper wifi setup to get 1 Gbps over air.

This is Gigabit only in name. The max you get is 370ish download and 400 upload. Even with a wired cable, the max I get is only around this. The technician did acknowledge this issue. They will run speed test on the ONT box to show 940Mbps, but a wired cable from their own router will bring it down to 400 Mbps. Still plenty of bandwidth for my usage but something to remember. If anyone has any ideas on overcoming this, I am all ears!
I imagine it depends on a number of factors. My desktop (hardwired ethernet) gets 900Mbps+ up and down. I've been really happy with the service.

I'm trying to change the plan to this new $50/month plan (paying $90 now) but the website seems to be going in a loop and I can't select anything.
