They are flawed from the factory.
The carry handles on the side are a true flaw in design. They are not reliable, and can snap off without exceeding the weight limit. I have 7 boxes of varying sizes and 3 have broken handles. Dewalt will not replace them. The top handle is the only useful handle.
I only bought these because of the clearance deals that popped up here a year or two ago and would return the whole set immediately if I had paid full price.
It is a good deal, but those complaints are legitimate for this product.
Eventually they will come out with the 2.0 version that looked like a copy of Milwaukee designs.
Side note, the yellow "locks" on the side to tether boxes together are a joke. They are tiny and hard to manipulate with human fingers...not sure who approved that design, but it could have been better.

I have two wall rack mounts (DWST08260 for $66.41 each), 2 XL cases (DS400 at 24.40 each), 3 8-Compartment Small Parts Organizer (DS150 for $18.53 each) and 3 totes (DWST08205 for $15.07 each). I curated my selection individually when they went on sale at Home Depot or Amazon.
If you are not in rush, then there will definitely be better pricing/sales especially if you need to buy single items. If you do want something sooner, then these are decent prices and great cases!
I already have one of these stacking sets from a BF deal a few years ago, and it's been fine. But what you really want is the metal rolling carrier cart where rails support each box separately rather than stacking on top of the bottom box. . But that cart alone goes for more than this deal, with no boxes.
This deal is a light-dury cart system but definitely worth it for the price if you need something like that. If you are rolling on a smooth floor and are willing to lift up boxes to get to other boxes, this would be fine.

Interesting... which boxes broke on you? I've got a few and want to know which ones are likely to fail

I know it's a failure of Dewalt to not replace the handle (would you want to replace the broken one with another faulty handle?) But can you fabricate a metal side handle or did it break at the box where the handle mounts to?
I'll have to go to the store and play with the yellow side locks to see what you're saying to see if it will be worth the frustration as you noted seeing as I, too, have human fingers.
However, they are fantastic as range boxes and cases (I've dumped my range bags for these).
There are a few pick and pluck foam kits for the "briefcase" configured cases and having all the bases clip together with the rolling base makes them a one trip system.
