Debating between Milwaukee Fuel and Dewalt Max XR and can't decide between the two.

Haven't seen much on the Milwaukee Fuel Surge. How's that compare? Looks like a good price on that impact driver unless the Surge is Milwaukee's version of Dewalt's Atomic series
It's not. Milwaukee's impact drivers are better than dewalts (it's one of their weaker tools). I am a "dewalt guy", but I'm considering the surge because it does not have the collet issue that the Milwaukee impacts have yet has the sustained torque curve the Milwaukee impacts don't have.

Yeah. But it wont be free if that what you are thinking. They prorate both the tools depending on the combo you select and you will only be charged as to what you return. It will be completely free only if you return both! LMAO

I've had the reverse -- I bought the M18 impact many years ago. I finally picked up the M12 impact and drill/driver a few months ago with a couple extra batteries. I went to use the M12 impact to drive some 2" screws into 4" PT lumber, and while it was working, it was slow. I grabbed the M18 and drove those home in no time.

I'll probably sell the M12 driver at some point because there's just no comparison. The M18 sometimes has too much power and rips off the heads of screws (rarely and usually my fault), but the speed and power make it a joy to use. I don't think the M12 would have had a problem finishing the job I was doing, but it would have taken me a lot more time.
I went for the m12 in the beginning because I like the size and I don't plan on doing any thing heavy duty. But as you said there's been a few times I was driving screws into studs ( thick/large one) and it was struggling. Had to let it cool a few times. FOMO (fear of missing out) is getting to me though lol

Does anyone know if Milwaukee released a version 4.0 of their M18 Fuel drill to fix that collet issue (bits releasing)?
I have a M18 impact with that issue. Is this a fixable problem? Can we send it in for a repair? It's a wide known issue and it's annoying as hell. What is the resolution beyond getting a new one? Mine has a 3 year warranty and it's on year 2 now.

Was able to pick up the circular saw, sawzall, and oscillating tool by doing the cancellation method.

Any thoughts on the wet/dry vac if I already have some larger ones around? I feel like the bigger ones are cumbersome with the cords and carrying all the hoses, but is the milwaukee one worth 85 bucks after tax since it only is good for light use?

I use the portable wet/dry for attaching to my chop saw/circ saws to aide in dust collection. It's not incredibly powerful, but works for smaller jobs

Is this a good deal? I'm 23 years old & looking to move into my first tool set
I am also 23. Just started home renovating on my first condo. I started off doing this deal with the Ridgid line up. I feel like I could have gotten much better deal with the Dewalt 10 tool bundle + 2 batteries and charger for like $550~. It depends on how many tools you're looking at, but I wish I had just went that route instead instead of going piece by piece with Ridgid.

How do you do that? Do you order them each, go store pick up and cancel battery shipment?

Just did a second order for the wet/dry vac and cancelled the battery portion. Easy enough! Will hopefully pick up the vac on the way home from work today!

I was driving 3" deck screws through PT lumber while replacing some 2x4 deck boards, and the M18 just drove them in without hesitation (using pilot holes to prevent splitting). I'd rather have too much power than too little. Smilie

Is the wet/dry vac worth the cost? Thinking of picking it up, but it seems pricey for a small shop vac, however, I can see the benefits of it. I'm not a huge project guy but like having tools that are portable and plug free. Thinking that this would be good for vacuuming out cars and small pickup jobs, but would like some advice. Sorry if this question was asked already and I missed it.
