1st- The x360 14c is a 14 inch screen and is smaller than my 13" Dell. Its side bezels are so thin. The top is a little bigger and the bottom bezel which is huge on most chromebooks is small also. So much screen real-estate. So happy with that
2nd- HP i3 10th gen, Dell i3 5th gen. Octane score HP - 37484 , Dell - 16253. Open tabs is so quick. Not that the Dell was slow but the fractions of a second can be seen side by side. I'm sure anything intensive this will eat up
3rd- Keyboard and touchpad. Dells keyboard was great and this one is really nice too. The backlit keys are much brighter than the Dells at full brightness. Each actual key the HP is slightly bigger which is I like as well. The touchpad is like 50 percent bigger on the new HP. So everything there is great. There is more light bleed on the HP from the keys on a very low angle, if you had it on your lap laying in bed. If you look from the top like you would at a desk there is no light bleed
4th- speakers. The Dells are not good, they fire downward and are not loud. With a AC running I have trouble hearing talking sometimes. These are slightly better. Get a little louder and are clearer but its probably cause they are upward firing. I wouldn't call either of them good, nothing like a Galaxy Tab 6 with 4 stereo speakers. Still the HP is a slight upgrade over my Dell
Now for the big part the display. I do see what people mean but it doesn't get that bright. Its hard to describe comparing it to my Dell. So the Dell gets brighter, not much but brighter. But the Dell is almost washed out at its max brightness. Whites look whiter on the Dell, like a brighter white. Whites look slightly darker/greyer on the HP. Blacks though look blacker on the HP. HP screen is super glossy so there are reflections everywhere. I'm going to have to play around with it more but I'm 99% sure I'm going to keep it even without the screen being the best. Its good enough for me and every other feature is great.
Some other stuff. Build quality is great, everything feels like its metal. Finger printer reader is a nice gimmick. Tried a youtube video in 60fps 4k just to see if it would run, it was super smoother. My Dell can't even run 4k 60fps, it just freezes. Not that I would every run a 4k video on a 1080p screen but just shows it capable. Not sure exactly but text is easier to read on the HP at max brightness, might be because it doesn't get as bright. The HP at minimum brightness is nice and dark, my Dell at minimum is still too bright to read in a pitch black room at night.
Tonight I'll watch some netflix to see how the screen does that. But I can see if you work by a window how or in very bright lighting this might not be for you, but even then I don't think its terrible, maybe not excellent like every other spec on this laptop
Tried to take some pics to compare. But I don't think they can really show the difference.

Love the small bezels. Tablet mode is cool but 14 inches is huge. If anyone has any specific questions let me know, I'll try to answer them.

x360 touch screen, backlit keyboard with i3 and 8 gigs ram. Premium Chromebook specs imo. Just wondering about the brightness, can't seem to find it anywhere.
Edit: never mind. its small on mobile but there's a little checkbox below the price to apply it. great find on the Chromebook alone op. i3 10th gen, 8GB, full HD IPS screen...

I'm not seeing the $100 off. Must be dead

Never mind. I had to go to the $100 off student deal in order to see it. Doesn't show when going from free headphones link
Only two downsides where it was a little heavy, and the screen a bit dull.

I don't remember the i3, 8GB version ever being $300, I think $350 was been the lowest.
I think it was a open box deal at the time
